The two series have some similarities -- but Monhun definitely has a stronger coop element, no pvp, and is essentially a boss rush. There are a fair few differences I think. --- Would you follow a blind man? I would if I was in the dark ... Copied to Clipboard!

Monster Hunter is misson based, which most Souls aren't. Souls also has non-boss enemies that matter unlike MH. MH stamina matters less than it does in Souls where damn near anything drains your stamina. Oh and Souls has character progression rather than equipment-only like MH. A level 200 character holding a maxed Longsword or whatever compared to a level 1 character can make a big difference, unlike MH where I can be just as weak as I was in the early game if I wanted(unlike my cat/dog who actually gets stronger themselves). This topic does make me wonder what it would be like if MH-esque games took off. All I can think of that kinda fits the bill is Dauntless, Toukiden, God Eater, and I guess Wild Hearts? I'm sure there's other stuff I haven't heard of. --- https://static.tumblr.com/fxyqnnj/aUMm09zol/alvin_and_leia.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

Because they are different games. Lords of the Fallen, The Surge, Lies of P, are closer to Souls games in design. Monster Hunter clones would be Wild Hearts, Toukiden, Freedom Wars.
