Braun Series 9 Sport. Costco has good deals on them.

I replaced my Philips Norelco with the Braun after the Philips died prematurely. Both felt like they had similar levels of performance.

I find that's the case with electric razors period if shaving dry or with plain shaving cream.

I have to lather up facial hair with a badger hair brush and cream with hot water to get a close shave using any razor.

If you do, go with Harry's.

And you're talking face, yeah?

I have suggestions but they're for heads.

I usually use a Phillips Norelco around $80 MSRP, wet/dry springy heads, but no goop or display. It doesn't work as well as a blade, but it's so much easier (and cleaner/safer) that I end up shaving more often and it balances out. They only last about five years.

Almost anything is better than disposable.

Are you currently shaving with lather and a brush (i.e. "wet shaving")? That makes a big difference in shave quality.

Man I cant stand any of the electric razors Ive ever tried. They all feel like theyre tearing my face up.

I just use 3 bladed bic disposables and dont even bother with shaving cream anymore.

I've been using a Remington X7 Limitless XR1770 for a year now and it hasn't let me down. Here in the UK it seems to still be on sale and pretty well priced. If it's still for sale where you are I can recommend it.

i dont understand the point of electric razors over just a safety razor or even a straight blade. is it for beard styling? i shave every couple days because i'd be 'blessed' with thick muttonchops if i didn't and i never use anything but a disposable.

You can adjust or attach different attachments for different lengths. You don't need a close shave on your neck, if you have a beard.

For me it's a combination of sensitive skin, beard hair that is both tough and fast-growing, and poor hand-eye coordination. Due to all that safety razors cut up my face something fierce but I still have to shave every day to keep that shit under any sort of control. Dry shaving every day with an electric shaver is the only solution I've found.

Speed. I have very thick hair and an electric razor lets me press hard against my skin as long as I have a good lather and gets me a much faster close shave. You can't press like that with a safety razor so it's a more delicate, slower process, although I do enjoy it when I have time every once in a while. A straight blade shouldn't even be in the conversation for most people unless you'd enjoy the challenge of mastering it as a skill. Any modern plastic razor, disposable or not, is useless on my facial hair.

I bought a Phillips Norelco recently that I really like, but I don't do a clean shave. I just use the smallest beard trimmer attachment for my non-beard face areas
