Funny enough I just got it at a used game store for about half off. I haven't played it yet, either, but my friend says the middle is a bit dull but the beginning and end are great.

I bought it day 1 but only played it for about 2 hours, though that isn't the fault of the game. It's just been hard for me to get into any gaming the past few years.

It's a decent game, and there are a few things I really quite like about it. Some good story elements, good animations, a good battle system, good boss fights.
But ultimately it drags, always spends too long getting to the point, and has way too much backtracking.

It feels like they tried to stretch the content of a normal M&L game, out to double its length. And the game suffers badly for it doing so.
It's outright dull at times.

I voted yes, but I'm probably a little biased.

How's the difficulty for those who played it? Out of all the games in the series, Paper Jam made me sweat the most lol. Never dealt with that with the others.

Its overall great, but it definitely takes too long to really get going, and the ending sequence is too long (with a bunch of backtracking)

its in one of the higher tiers of Mario RPGs but not quite elite

Mario & Luigi: Brothership succumbs to numerous pacing and presentation issues that are more-or-less rare in the predecessors (though Mario & Luigi: Dream Team comes pretty close), especially considering the fact that you're visiting most islands thrice at the least and that the whole story is nothing more than a 50-hour "everybody's better together" message, not helped either by having some of the most one-dimensional characters and dialogue in the series.

That said, if you can look past the above (and other unmentioned) issues, you'll bound to have a pretty good time.

Absolutely not. It's a slog and most of it is not fun. If you can buy it used so you can return it without feeling guilty

Yes. Like others have said, it drags on a bit, but definitely worth playing.

If you're willing to put up with a looooooooot of repetition and a very slow start, yes. If I lost all progress where I am now, I would absolutely not put up with the beginning of the game again. The game also looks and feels cheaper and more generic than every other game in the series by a wide margin.
