What will hit is that the time between 3s and SF4 is shorter than the time between SF4 and SF6.

What makes me feel old is even though gamefaqs tends to skew older a thread like this will come up and people will talk about being little kids in that time and super young meanwhile I was already in my 20's and in the military having already travelled around the world when FF7 came out.

On September 25 the time since Super Mario Bros was released until now will be a greater duration of time then the end of WW2 and the release of Super Mario Bros.

I dont get why stuff like this affects people so much. Its not really a shock.

I hate being reminded of my age when I feel like I haven't really experienced life yet.

Well I turned 35, so of course. I still vaguely remember Kurt Cobain dying and that was over 30 years ago.

Donkey Kong Country 2 is turning 30 in a few months. That'll hit me the hardest.

That is my favorite game.

The very two first video games I've ever played. Super Mario Bros and Mike Tyson Punch-Out. One will be 40 soon and the other a couple years from now.

MGS4 is older now than MGS1 was when MGS4 released.

And it's been that way for eight years.

Some of my favourite games from the 90s are still going strong.

The Wii turns 20 next year.

NES was retro back in the PS2 days, so the same time frame would make Wii/360/PS3 retro now, and Wii U/XBone/PS4 will be joining them pretty soon.

Fired up the 351mp last night. Uncharted Waters new Horizons. Personal favorite. The only game I spent 3 days playing. It was in that small window when I left the military came home before leaving again. 31y ago.

How about this one, then:

Mega Man Legends 3 was cancelled longer ago than Mega Man Legends 2 was old when 3 was announced.

SpongeBob is the only thing that makes me feel old.
I remember being 9 years old in 99 watching the pilot episode on the Kids Choice Awards.

Is it weird that things like "all those games you played as a kid are closing in on 30 years old" doesn't really hit me but things like realizing in the leadup to Tears of the Kingdom "this will be the first time Ganondorf is the main villain in a mainline Zelda since Twilight Princess, wait hang on that was 18 years ago!! 0_0" hit me so hard at the time.

The former is just like a fact of life to me but the latter is a slap in the face by Time Itself showing how fast its going lol.

Why is this information so surprising to people?

I had a fifth grade student in 2008 who was taught by his family that 9-11 was an accidental plane crash.
