Couldn't get the original Animated Series to fit, so just nixed it. I voted for DS9, as it is my overall favorite and I just adore the theme. Second up for me would be Voyager, another theme I just love.

Enterprise theme slaps

Prodigy. Even if you hate that show, that intro looks beautiful and the music is epic. One of the few intros I never skip.

Also yes this is in response to someone mentioning the Voyager theme in the Voyager topic and I wanted to make this one.

If Enterprise had used Archer's Theme (the closing credits song), the franchise would have been 100%.

I like most of them, esp. the TNG, DS9, & Voyager themes, but I went with Strange New Worlds. It hits the balance perfectly between being an update of the TOS theme and being its own thing.

I also really like the SNW one, it is so bombastic and a nice play on TOS theme.

NG > Lower Decks > TOS > the rest > being literally deaf so you can't hear anything ever again > Enterprise

It's not my favourite Trek series, but IMO Voyager's theme is the runaway winner.

I'm a little surprised by the lack of DS9. Always thought that theme was one of the best ever. That one is in my playlist along with Voyager.

DS9 is a banger for sure (I prefer the earlier version), but Voyager's theme is just that good.

The first two are clearly the best. Most of the rest could be in a vacation slideshow.

The full theme is indeed amazing, I was debating adding it but figured I would just keep it to directly the opening of the shows themselves.

idk what this means. They are sweeping orchestral songs, I don't think any feel like a vacation slide show.

TNG theme is great.

DS9 is good too, but I wonder if it would have been better to make it more of a march or something since so much of the series is about the dominion war.

I think the series of DS9 isn't the dominion war though. I feel like it only really pops off in season 5. It's a slow escalation to it, but before that is a super cool look at just an intergalactic intersection. It ends up being awesome with the dominion war of course but there were a bunch of good stories throughout before it became a war show

TNG, DS9 and VOY are all brilliant, but Voyager's theme is on another level for me.

Next Generation, easily. It evokes adventure and daring, it's a perfect theme song for a show about boldly going where no one has gone before.

Voyager deserves an honourable mention, and is similarly well suited to the show's premise, but it's not a patch on TNG's.

DS9 is my pick, but I've always loved this Voyager synth version.

One fact about the original Star Trek theme is that there are actually official lyrics written by Gene Roddenberry:

Of course, these lyrics aren't part of the theme as we hear it in the show and they were never intended to be. Roddenberry just wrote them so that legally he could have a claim to co-writing the theme along with the composer Alexander Courage and would be entitled to a cut of the royalties instead of it all going to Courage.

Gotta go with Enterprise for this one. Just very inspirational and hopeful, perfectly fit the series.

Im the one LD vote. I loved the ongoing additions to the Borg battle scene as the seasons progressed.

I think no matter what, the entire series has great music. Iconic for us imagining space travel in various ways.

TNG, though the movie version (originally in TMP) is better. My overall favorite ST theme is First Contact, though.
