I wanted some tasty noodles and the buldak ones were too much for me last time so it bought the nongshim.

Im sweating like a beast and have snot running out of my nose trying to get through these.

Who likes stuff this spicy? Maybe Im just old

I love spicy stuff. My issue is most commercial stuff is never spicy enough for me and most of it I consider on the pretty mild end.

I have no idea where these fall though, but yeah I love stuff that makes me produce saliva uncontrollably to the point I can just open my mouth over the sink and it pours from my mouth while the entire outer edge of my mouth goes numb from the spice and it makes me break out in a sweat enough to soak my shirt and drip down my face.

Not an exaggeration. I legit like it like this and it isn't about just being hot, I can still actually taste the flavor. I don't want it to be hot just for being hot without flavor. Generally speaking I need stuff that is elevated with pure capsaicin because stuff like just ground up ghost peppers aren't enough for me though yes they do have a couple much hotter peppers now though in my area they are not common.

If you can get em, try mi goreng. Amazing garlicky/savory/sweet balance and the perfect amount of spice imo. Dont forget to put a fried egg on that bad boy

I also get these in bulk. My wife loves them.

The rice noodles are a nice change when I dont want to get too full. They come with a little bit of a bang oil but its just the right amount of kick.

Like all my ramen, I toss in some cut up veggies and a protein and it elevates them to another level in no time.

Shin "red" is much more spicy than Shin "black"....

It's also cheaper, by like a dollar. I like both, to be honest. Shin Black has a richer broth with more flavor. Shin Red hits you with more spice. I mostly only eat the "cup noodle" form, since it's so much easier to cook and eat on my lunch break at work.

Everyone has different heat tolerance. The shin ramyun is about as spicy as Im comfortable with and they still had me sweating and snotty.

I understand the appeal of some spice when it enhances the taste but when my lips start going numb and I cant think straight, thats too much for me.

Nongshim (Shin Ramyun) and Samyang (Buldak) are Korean ramen brands, which tend to be spicier than other countries. Samyang especially has some blisteringly hot flavors, up to their 3x spicy flavor. Samyang has some milder Buldak flavors that are less spicy than Shin, namely the carbonara and cheese flavors. The carbonara is particularly excellent, but still has a kick to it. Nongshim's Chapagetti is a black bean stew ramen with no spice, and is one of the best of the Korean ramen flavors.

Still, if you're looking for mild, it's probably best to avoid Korean ramen. Indonesia's Mi Goreng flavors tend to be really good, and there's some assorted udon bowls that are worth your while. If there's no Asian market nearby and you don't have much of a selection to go with aside from the major brands, I'd say get the premium ones (Maruchan Gold or Nissin Raoh) over the bottom shelf stuff.

Nongshim and Buldak have at least 2 flavor packets. No one is forcing you to add all of the heat packet. Just add to taste. You can always add plain sesame oil ( oil of your choice ) if it needs more oil.
