It's an easier version of enabling the "kinda infuriating mode", which disables checkpoints completely.

Oh, yeah I don't think I'd want that
Sometimes I'd be fine with it, but other times I lose too much progress and don't feel like spending more time trying to do better lol

It was something that TC suggested, not anything "masochism". Unless you personally define any kind of challenge that way. Although, I have noticed that TC has given up on his own suggestion.

I just rarely ever use the reset button, so I just naturally end up PIWIL. I don't force myself to do it. I mention it when I did not reset to a checkpoint. Otherwise, I don't really care. I think twice I have replayed a board with PIWIL in mind, but not in quite awhile.
