Is this at work? Was the argument about a work thing? Did you have an actual conflict that needed a resolution or were you just wanting to win an argument?

There's a dozen times everyday where I hear people at work pipe up about shit that they have literally no idea what they're talking about, and I say nothing, because telling Maggie from accounts that her understanding of how calories works is not going to end well for anyone, especially me.

No, just something that crossed my mind while thinking about Discord interactions I've had in the past.

At least for me the need to resort to the chat room equivalent of chair throwing is the response I want to go to.
