Nofx is my favorite band, but I love bad religion and old afi. And obviously the misfits and operation ivy and rancid and black flag and anti flag and all of the classic punk bands like the Sex Pistols and ramones and clash and iggy pop

NoMeansNo is the best punk bad bar none. I get that people love the simplicity of a lot of punk but I love that they're a lot busier musically.

depends how you think of "punk rock". I mostly listened to pop punk/alternative kind of punk.

90s/00s The Offspring, AFI, Saves the Day, Alkaline Trio, Fall Out Boy, Rise Against, Gaslight Anthem

10s/20s The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, The Menzingers, White Reaper, PUP, The Dirty Nil

Just a smattering of songs mostly from the 90s-00s. I generally dont like the bands theyre from.

I guess I never got into plain old punk rock. I like genres related to hardcore punk and crust punk though. Like some of the bands xGhostchantx mentioned.

I like Green Day, the Ramones, and Misfits. To a lesser extent i like Joan Jett & the Black Hearts, Bad Religion, Doyle and Toy Dolls. I've never been that big on punk. ETA: Oh! There's this band called Boogeyman that is pretty good.

I'm also counting Billy Idol. He may have found more success as a pop rock star, but he was in Generation X and is still a punk at heart.

Punk and ska are by far my favorite kinds of music, nothing else even comes close.

I don't entirely understand Ska so I like some individual songs but not the genre...

It seems to me like the concept of 'lets tell the bad news in a good way', like an antithesis to gospel music and a parody of the blues. But that's just my shallow opinion of modern ska and I haven't heard any stuff from the 60s

I dont think theres anything deep about it, it either sounds good to your ears or it doesnt. When I hear horns, Im fucking in. Its always my favorite part of any song. Theres something about reel big fish and streetlight manifesto and all outta angst by nofx that just do it for me. And I know thats incredibly uncommon, but when you go to a ska show and everybody is skanking and having fun.. you just see the people who it sounds good for.
