That Megaman X5 was meant to be the final game in the series, so it was loaded with callbacks. -Intro cinematic had illustrations of battles from the last four games (though with the poor image quality, limited color palette, and how they all flashed by in about two seconds, it was impossible to take in any details). -One fortress stage had you platform across appearing and disappearing platforms, like in classic MM. -First fortress stage had you dealing with instakill lasers, like in Quick Man's stage. -First fortress boss was Rangda Bangda, reused from X1. -Second fortress boss was a Devil goo monster, not seen since classic MM. -First Sigma battle starts with him throwing off his cape like in X1, and he leaps across the walls in a similar manner. -Second Sigma had these floating hands you could jump on, and his weakness was a weapon that took the form of a sphere. -It's probably why the final battle has X and Zero's capsules in the background. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... It took roughly 7 years or so after it came out, but I was humming the Black Mage Village music one day and noticed that I was going through the same notes I do when humming Vivi's theme. Black Mage Village is a remix of Vivi's Theme. And I felt so stupid for not realizing sooner. When you hear them back to back, it's plain as day. I was watching a YouTube video of someone the streams GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, and he was teaching this other guy how in Perfect Dark if you hold down Z to fire a gun, and keep Z held down, then "A" will also fire the gun, letting you rapid-fire semi-automatics much easier. --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? ... My favorite that I've posted a million times: you can snoop on Seifer's PC in FFVIII to find out he's a fan of a certain movie called the Sorceress' Knight starring one Laguna Loire. Laguna if you recall didn't know how to use a Gunblade when filming the movie. Seifer's Gunblade stance and his chuunibuyou dream of becoming a Sorceress' Knight stem from this movie. Unrelated; Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec is an anagram for Succession of Witches Love which references how power is past to Sorceresses in the game. Lastly, people shit on the plot twist, but NPCs and your PC in the beginning explain GF controversy and more to the point Cid was likely pulling strings to get those specific orphanage SeeD to go on missions together --- [[[[[[[[[[[[[[[|||||||||||||]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] ... Regarding FFVIII, another thing I never noticed until it was pointed out to me was that when you confront Ultimecia, she looks at the entire party and says "SeeD!" 6 times. This is the exact number of people in your full party, but only 4 of them are actually SeeDs. This means that to Ultimecia, it doesn't matter what your rank is. If you oppose her, you're still a SeeD. Mad-Dogg posted... It took me several playthrough to discover the "Power of the Boos." At the time, the Internet was well in swing, but there was -almost- no info on this one particular thing, so it was really bizarre that nobody seemed to know anything about it and I had never even seen it before even though I had already played through the game multiple times at that point. When I approached the balcony to go fight Boolossus, a boo appeared in front of the door, calling itself "the Power of the Boos." It taunted me for a few lines of dialog and then teleported me back to the Foyer. It did this several times in a row, which is why I went to Google. I did eventually find it, after some serious digging. Turns out, this happens if you haven't captured enough Boos at that point. Makes sense in hindsight. You reduce their "power" as you capture more of them.
