Less technology as far as forensics and evidence collecting and lack of communication between police departments and state departments and federal departments without a unified database so often people that should have been stopped and locked up early in their careers were able to be free and keep committing crimes. I watched a fascinating documentary on Samuel Little who is the most prolific serial killer in America and for as much as I watch this stuff I had never even heard of the guy. He is a prime example of exactly what I talked about in the 1st paragraph. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player. One of the things I see rarely mentioned is that gasoline had lead in it until the early to mid 80s. Contact with lead and inhalation of fumes with lead have recorded data that shows it both decreases intelligence and increases aggression and violent tendencies. After they removed lead from paint and gasoline there is actually a recorded statistical rise in average academic testing scores, and a continued decrease in violent crime. Im not saying those are fully to blame for having higher rates of violent crimes, including serial murders, as it is advances in forensics and police databases that really did most of the work in decreasing that type of activity, but I do think the higher percentage of lead exposure did lead to a more aggressive and violent society, overall, which would promote higher rates of serial murderers. --- Before me things create were none, save things eternal, and eternal I endure. one of the more dark arguments is that there wasn't an increase in serial killers, its just that state agencies started working with the FBI to track crimes better and started to notice patterns... --- Taarsidath-an halsaam.
