The switch 2 didn't get released in the middle of a pandemic so they wouldn't have a stock shortage like the PS5 did. Also, with the looming tariffs, companies over produced products to beat the tariff.

Nintendo was planning on over production before tariffs were a thing, just made them ship more state side. The switch 2 has been the fastest selling system in history, and having stock available definitely helped.

If you're considering one as a gift for Xmas, now might be a good time (just keep in mind with a game or 2, accessories and the only subscription, you're paying an arm and a leg)

If they weren't planning on raising prices then Tears of the Kingdom wouldn't have been $70.

Obviously Nintendo just ordered every other publisher to start selling games for $70 ahead of TotK to normalize it and trick the world into thinking they weren't the true masterminds behind the devious scheme.

I wonder why. No games maybe? And the games that are out are PS4 games that have a $70 price tag on them.

It's no secret what their updated terms of service has in it.

Modded console, game, or any software/activity that Nintendo doesn't like?
Bricked Switch 2 for you!

I don't even think it matters that it's a small minority of Switch 2 owners would want to do that, the idea of Nintendo having that power is enough to make me never want to buy one.

(Same thing about cars with OnStar, who can remotely shut down your vehicle's engine in the instance it ever got stolen. I'll never buy a car that has it, because the possibility of it being used against me is a 100% no-go.)

Good. At least that means Nintendo produced enough to meet demand.

I can kind of understand a brand-new switch 2 game costing $70. it seems insane, but its at least understandable. but a switch 1 game that is remastered costing $70. no way jose. Just buy the damn switch 1 version if you've never played the game before. Cheaper and honestly, not that much different other than maybe slightly better visual and framerate on the switch 2 version. The original game we all played is just fine. Its not like its a remake from a N64 to Switch 2 or something crazy.
