Seems like the theme of my life. I honestly hate our government with every fiber of my being. I have a perfectly clean criminal record and work history, but Im literally being told that I dont get to have a place in society.

This is not right. Being rejected multiple times per day/week is NOT natural. This is honestly destroying me and Im literally just trying to apply at retail because I fucked my entire life up by not getting a degree or certification.

No criminal record, but Im being treated like I have a murder on file.

Honestly, the job market seems to be shit in general right now.

Hey TC just keep trying. You can always go to a trade school and learn a trade that interests you. Even plumbers nowadays make $90k+

Maybe I'm not interpreting this right but you are mad at the government because you can't get a job? You mean within the government or just in general? Who is "literally telling you" that you don't have a place in society? There are plenty of decent jobs you don't need a degree or certification in. Just depends on where you are geography wise.

They're always hiring truck drivers and most companies will pay you to get your CDL.

Ive been doing that for a month now, using the browser and the apps without any luck. Ive gotten multiple rejections and most places are hard ghosting me. Sams club called me for an in person interview and I know it went really well (they even told me so). The application has been under review since last Thursday. The internet says its normal to take 1-2 weeks, but Im also seeing people say their application was left under review for over a month.

Otherwise, I genuinely dont have the time or money for trade school or any certifications right now. Ive GOT to get an income source now and then work on that stuff. The problem is that literally nowhere is hiring.

As far as the me blaming the government thing goes, have you guys seen the news over the past several months?? Import tariffs are causing the workforce to slash positions. There are fewer jobs because the government chose to do certain things. Thats why I partially blame the government. I already admitted my own lack of effort, but it 100% wasnt as hard to get a job before the import tariffs.

What is your work history like? Usually retail is pretty easy to get. At least entry level retail.

it's going to get worse. tariffs aren't helping things :(.

i do wish you manage to fix the situation with your job search. i would take anything reasonable in pay (i'm probably going to try part time work in a few years in case social security benefits get slashed). there's something i can do with a mental disability.

I feel you..It's been 6 months for me..Job market sucks, especially in my industry. I've had maybe 10 first round interviews with the manager, and haven't gotten to the final panel interview stage..

Because there's more people applying for the job, they're also taking longer in the process to get back to you. Do you ever ask for the turn around after an interview? If they say 1-2 weeks, when those weeks are up, I'd send them an email. Don't forget to send thank you letters after an interview btw.

Besides that....Don't take it personally and don't sound desperate during the interview. Be well prepared for the questions, and research the company if you haven't. We know it's a numbers game. Whatever mistakes made, learn from them and don't dwell on them and keep applying..That's what I tell myself.
