I have a young kid and we watch the show all the time.

The movie was A whole new level, tons of jokes for adults but nothing that was exceptionally offensive or crude. It was refreshing getting a lot of laughter that wasn't based on rude behavior and name-calling actually.

They even had some stoner jokes which was as risque as it got.

Anyway do recommend, better than a lot of Disney stuff and without all the death but still some emotional nostalgia moments

actually the more I think about it the more I'm impressed at how they wrote a movie where no one is mean spirited

like

the main antagonist in the beginning thinks the dollhouse is in a market so she forks over a ton of cash to buy it from the shop keeper. I feel like in some other movies she would have just taken it.

And the other antagonist is mostly guilty of just causing a big mess in the dollhouse because he's jealous of what the other cats have and wants to have a good time and just takes it overboard.

also the million and one cat puns had me in tears. And the fake litter ad.

I'm actually going to take my daughter to see it next week with her friends. I'm glad there is at least something there for the adults lol.

There's a lot imo.

Actually the more I think about it the more I realize there isn't really like "kid" humor and "adult" humor in there, except for a few drug references. Like I don't know how they did it but it's a really solid movie, just the soundtrack could have been a little better considering the TV series has some full on hits.

My girlfriend took her daughter to see it and said it was pretty good. I'm still on the fence about taking my 3 year old to the movies. She hasn't really been able to watch a single thing for over 40 minutes without wanting to do something else.

That's fair, I'd say don't rush it if your kid is that young. It was our first time going to the movies and tbh my kid couldn't handle some of the emotional moments (imo they weren't even that bad, it was like... making messes and flashing lights) so we ended up having to leave in the last 15 minutes. But we don't even watch movies at home, mostly shorter episodes.
