I'll just repost the exact same thing I posted in your other topic about this exact same thing from yesterday:

He was saying if Harris (and the dems) moved to the right on trans issues and adopted more anti-trans rhetoric to win elections, then that wouldn't be a better environment for trans people even of she won. Because you have ceded ground to false right wing framing on the issue and now there is no counter messaging. He also argues that strategy wouldn't even work electorally because transphobes would still vote for the Republicans.

Hes arguing the democratic party should not abandon the trans community as some have suggested, in an attempt to appeal to a "broader" electorate.

https://twitter.com/Awk20000/status/1973054628230046180

And this was referring to the conversation ta nahesi Coates's and ezra Klein had where Klein was defending his puff piece on Charlie Kirk by arguing the Democrats need to expand their base, while coates argued we should not do that at the detriment of marginalized groups

The person he's responding to said trans people would be better off under Kamala if Kamala conceded to transphobia and anti-trans narratives. Hasan is saying that is wrong. I think I kind of agree with Hasan on this one.

TC do you think trans people would be better off under Kamala and Dems if Dems were as anti-trans as Republicans are?

Even if we entertain the idea that she isnt fully on board with Trans people, the idea that Trans people would be under the same threat under Kamala is just delusional.

Trump and his administration is actively targeting them. Kamala and her administration wouldn't actively target them.

His entire goal is to make people think the left lost the election despite tons of evidence they overwhelmingly voted for Harris and that increased turnout would have benefitted Trump. Which is weird that he continues to push that despite the evidence. Almost like his goal is something more than just trying to blame those responsible for her losing.

Even if she ceded the narrative for more votes, that administration wouldn't be taking the steps the Trump administration is now against them, so it'd still be better.

I wouldn't blame them for everything, but what isnt being acknowledged is theres some who think they shouldnt be held accountable for anything. Or the delusional position that the narrative they push or defend is inconsequential.

And yes, talking about Democrats more than Republicans is something to criticize. Having every excuse under the sun why you think its prudent to focus on being critical of Democrats more than the Republicans,.... is something to criticize. Republicans, you know the people who hold the majority in the House, Senate, White House and Supreme Court yet, "lets protest Obama!"

Even more comical is when protest voters are criticized, the defenders hide behind the disingenuous question of, "wElL wHeN iS iT oK tO CrItIcIzE dEmOcRaTs?"

Its a question that intentionally at this point tap dances around its not about being critical of Democrats. Its about being more critical of Democrats than Republicans.

I mean when is it? According to you never. The amount of people who sat out because of israel were not that high. Even more Democrat voters were simply apathetic and didn't really care or just voted Republican anyways. Most the ones I know were too lazy to vote or lied about not voting Trump. THe media is owned by the !5 who are all fucking conservative.

You don't know the first thing about me either.. I talk about Trumps fascism all the fucking time IRL and in other discords and sites. Is that not enough? What fucking do you want from me? Want me to make endless repeat topics like Humble? I'm a blue voter in a deep red area that tried my best to get people to vote for her. I risked my life knowing these MAGA-clowns would love to murder me for being a Democrat. But because I don't spend every waking moment on CE complaining about Trump I support Trump. Clown-mode right there. Even the most smooth brained leftists wont purity test that hard.

I don't think it was right to sit out. I think it was short sighted. Democrats can be pressured to listen; Republicans will just ignore you at best, kill you at worst. At least with Harris we had an actual chance. But, I'm saying it wasn't the protest voters who caused our loss despite what half of CE scream about.

Look. Nobody is saying you have no right to criticize Democrats.

But there's a point where we're fed up with protest voters doing the "Who Me" routine. Do they actively cost Dems the election? Probably not in 2024. Do they actively act as a splitters who do damage? Yes.

It's always "We can't pressure republicans to change, that's why we focus on attacking democrats". Yet here we are with republicans in charge. Did attacking democrats help keep republicans from fucking things up? No? Then why is this the go-to strategy?

Maybe at some point people need to realize that the constant attacks against every little thing democrats do while never talking about the actual good things they do contribute to voters voting in fascists.

It also requires voting for Democrats at time and being part of the coalition.

And not electing utter clowns like Jamal Bowman and Cori Bush. The latter of whom was absolutely disastrous for the party.

Yeah no matter who the president is:
1/3 of the country will target people
1/3 of the country will stand up for those people targeted
1/3 of the country will mind they own business and watch the horror show

We just happen to have a fire under Trump for action. His supporters are all for it. He has his enemies of the country trying to speak up for those whos voices and cries are being drowned. And finally, the rest of us are witness to whats happening. Its a coin flip to what the rest of us do or not do. Every day it seems that line that divides reaches those of us that are spectating until the action is at our doors.. .

But even if everyone who could vote did, Trump would have won by an even wider margin, 48%-45%, according to Pew's validated voters survey.
