It could be, but I am fairly resilient and have some goals. I do go to events and such like a weekly mid powered commander (magic the gathering) tournament, and golf with a few different friends. Just no ladies ya know

Lifes not all about the ladies and Im glad you seem happy with yours. I just meant that not meeting new people and forming new relationships seems like a sad place to be in.

Mhm, yeah.. I do make several acquaintances but struggle actually making real friends.

Why do you think that is? And what do you consider to be the threshold for somebody to be a real friend?

I'm not worth being with. I have no life, or any social skills. Social anxiety makes it difficult to interact with anyone. I'm emotionally damaged and closed off. I'm afraid of getting close to people.

I recently turned 42 and I've never had a date. I've tried, and failed repeatedly. I don't have it in me to keep trying and just hurting myself more. So, I'm done. I'm just learning to accept this is how it has to be, and trying to not let my depression consume my mind again.

He just needs to learn to love himself, which is something you really can't teach. My friends, family, and former therapist kept telling me and I didn't understand until I actually did it. His life would be a lot better if he stopped the self loathing. He's already great.

what do you look like? Have you tried subtle improvements to your appearance? New hair cut/style? Different style of dress? Exercising?

I think it's more likely that I'm some form of asexual. I'm not ruling out being bi, but I've never been sexually attracted to anyone, man or woman. I have developed crushes on people after getting to know them, which I think is demisexual, but even then it was just wanting to spend more time with them and enjoying their company and such. Idk... I've just never actually felt that kind of attraction to anyone.

It does bother me to still be a virgin, but it's less about sex and more about being unwanted. About not being able to attract anyone myself. I'm lonely and want a family, or at least to experience something with someone I care for and they care about me. But that seems impossible.
