The dog was so scared even trying to get off the bed. Dude is straight up abusing his dog so he can use it as a trophy for his stream.

I hope not. I did see a video of him teaching it how to swim and it looked terrified when he was putting it in a pool. It was trying to escape his arms. And then in the water it was panicking

Dunno who that is, but my uncle had a border collie once that he had one of those electric fences with the collar cause he would run off and whatnot right?

Dog was so smart he would walk until he got shocked, step back a few paces, then bolt like hell through the radius of the shocking - yelping the entire way - til he was free to roam the neighborhood as he pleased.

There's training collars that don't shock dogs. Haven't seen the video but I can't imagine a lot of millenials/zoomers using shock collars nowadays.

My friend's dog also yelps when he uses a non shock training collar. It doesnt shock them but it surprises them.

I saw the video on Reddit earlier, actually really sad and disturbing. You can tell the poor dog's terrified of him and he just brushes it off when his chat freaks out about it.

I saw the vid, 100% this piece of shit shocked his dog. His right arm wasn't moving at all while his left begins to rummage around for something the nanosecond he sees his dog start to move, the dog proceeded to yelp out in pain when she was just kinda standing there, then you hear the sound of plastic touching the desk like he's setting something down, and when called out on it he says she caught her leg on something even though there was nothing for her leg to get caught on and she yelped after he started rummaging around for the unknown item. Guess we can add "shocking his dog that just wanted to be a fucking dog" to the ever growing list of reasons on why he's an awful person.

and honestly not to make my experience what everyone else should have but whenever my dog whimpers i get shivers down my spine and he just doesn't react at all

Honestly I think most people with some basic form of empathy would at the very least glance behind them if they heard their own dog whimper in what sounded like pain, make sure that the dog's all good and everything. This dude didn't even flinch, both like he knew that was coming and that it was something he's used to hearing, the latter having implications which terrify me.

my uncle used to use one of those because my dog had barking problems when the apartment complex wanted to sleep. neighbors complained but the complaint was less serious than what it appeared to be.

i hated when the collar went off and she yelped whenever she barked. it was only short term.

I didn't get it from Hasan so I wasn't aware it was the "Hasan approved" explanation. I've watched that guy's stream a grand total of once (Jan. 6). I was just surprised how all of a sudden the internet went off on what rich guy does with his dog. Either way, dogs are cool and I hope it's a misunderstanding and not abuse.

Yeah this one I think is fairly clear cut. Most people initially are like surely he didn't go that far on a public stream. Then they watch the video and it sends a pretty clear message. I've had 2 dogs (1 died of old age, other one currently living with my sister cuz I'm heavily allergic :( ) and neither of them yelped like that off of just some mild admonishing. He clearly reaches for something, the dog is clearly afraid of such something, the dog yelps, was not even remotely in the position to have its paws be clipped on something or whatever.

I saw the video. If your dog yelps in pain, wouldnt your first response be to check on them? Instead his immediate response is to try and deflect his chat by saying how spoiled his dog is, huh. And the possibility the dog clipped its nail on the floor? Those paws werent moving until they got jolted by something. Like its a 99% chance its a shock collar.

My parents were dog trainers so grew up around this stuff. I might be a bit biased.

If he uses it as a supplement for actual obedience and verbal command, that's fucked up and he shouldn't have a dog.

I'm of the same mindset. I realize they're banned in many countries. They're still legal in the U.S. I am not going to jump to conclusions, because they can be used responsibly. I follow a trainer on YT who uses aversive training tools - Larry Krohn.

Now, in the case of Hasan, I've heard of him but do not really follow him, but there's definitely a wrong way to use ecollars that is abusive. I do think they should only be sold to responsible training professionals. Where I live, they're very common.

I dont see how people are so sure he shocks her, what am I missing? He leans forward? The dog could have hit her dewclaw when stepping down, thats a sensitive part of their body.
