Think its more about having actual production values on a game that generates billions of dollars.

I'm not opposed to voice acting in the games and would like it if Gen10 has it but not having it isn't a problem for me but to the people that are spreading this tweet as if it was from Z-A, c'mon, be better. There are much better ways to make the argument for va in the series than being disingenuous as fuck. Not saying you're one of them, tc, it looks like you honestly didn't know.

Theres nothing wrong with a major series having a low budget. Why does every game need to be a triple-A just because it makes a lot of money?

what they should do is put more effort into QA, bug fixing and optimisation. But the people who want only AAA slop and then turn around and cry about increasing prices dont know what theyre complaining about anymore

I don't know where I got the 150M from, but even 20M considering how the game looked is way too high.

At a certain point to fulfill an ambitious vision you need budget though. Lower budget games are just fine, but the limitations that come with them need to be worked around.

Something like scarlet and violet were just clearly too ambitious for the amount of time and money they put towards it. This shows in performance, graphical quality, and general functionality on release.

A low budget is fine when its not negatively impacting the series or too little to afford voice actors for scenes that clearly need voice acting

The leaked budgets really make it seem like TPC thinks of the games as an afterthought. The merch and cards are where the money is.

I also think GF desperately needs new blood. Japanese devs tend to have less turnover/layoffs than Western devs, which can lead to a strong long-term team that works well together (Zelda, Mario teams) but the flipside is that a team can grow stagnant.

But if they have scenes with singing, they should at least have the character singing the lyrics, ESPECIALLY when the scene has voices booing.
I wonder if it's a licensing thing, does the JP version have the singing?
