Personally I love to cook when I can, if nobody is going to that day or evening.

I also love throwing random things together and usually it turns out good.

I don't follow recipes really unless it's something I've never cooked/baked before

I love it and spend a ton of time in the kitchen and am quite good at it. I have always cooked a lot but for health reasons in 2017 I had to give up any eating out and every single meal comes from my kitchen prepared by me. Nothing premade or frozen or microwaved. From scratch on virtually everything.

My diet is more limited these days because of health reasons which is a bummer but yeah still cook a lot.

It's not something I do as a hobby, but I like the results of my cooking enough that I do it multiple times a week, generally in batches so I cook less but get to enjoy the food I made more.

No. You spend way more time cooking than you do eating, and all I can think about is the huge mess Im making.

Love it. Got a homemade pizza in the oven right now. I've been really inspired lately. Made some raisin bread, pumpkin muffins, banana bread, pickled some onions and some general dinner experiments the past few weeks.

As a SAHM its my job. Kids both have unique food allergies & intolerances so I have to make most things from scratch so they dont feel ill.

i am quite good at it and the kids do love what I make.

Sure do! Not too shabby at it, either. Tomorrow I'm making some hatch chile & onion smash burgers on my cast iron griddle over the grill, with Chihuahua cheese, tomato, and homemade spicy avocado mayo. I'm excited.

i enjoy cooking for myself, tonight i plan to cook the bone-in chicken (it's plain) but goes good with the hot sauce.

then the sides:

1/2 of a vegetable sandwich with cheese
corn and peas

Also I want to add on, I absolutely love home canning/preserving and do a ton of that as well. It was so much more common when I was young but had died out a lot. Tons of people still have big gardens here in the #1 farm state but not as many home canners. It had a small resurgence for Covid but died out soon after that again which I figured would happen.

I flat out love canning and even when not actively doing it will reread my "Ball Blue Book" which I have read through a million times just for fun. It is like one of the gold standards for home preserving books you should have on hand.

I try cooking stuff but it never turns out right. It never tastes anywhere near as good as when my mom made it. Usually it just tastes wrong (worse than not as good) and I don't know what I'm doing to ruin stuff. So I gave up on cooking for the most part.

I have to stick to super simple stuff. Hamhocks and beans are the only real dish that I know will turn out well. It's so simple that even I don't mess it up.

I like baking, but the other types of cooking are frustratingly vague.

Like I know what the hell number "medium heat" is on stovetop, or when the damn dish is "golden brown." Or even when the stove is preheated in the first place. I think that might actually be my main struggle.

If you put a drop of water in the pan if it immediately fizzles away, too hot. If it just sits there, too cold. If it dances around the pan, just right.

I do. I don't do much of it these days, I'm not super motivated to cook just for myself. These days I just meal prep most of the week on Sunday and only cook breakfast most days.

I don't like having to cook, but when I do cook for myself and others, I take my time with it and don't try to rush anything to ensure the meal, however small, tastes its best.

We dont cook every day - after work, were often too tired, so we usually just throw together something simple like a green salad, tomatoes with cottage cheese, fresh bread, and some dried meat. But when we do take the time to cook a real meal, we absolutely love it. Especially on weekends, when were not rushed and can really enjoy the process.

My partner usually handles the veggie prep while I take over the stove. We split the clean-up, so dishes never feel like a chore.

Love cooking, not the biggest fan of cleaning up after but the trick is to try to clean as much as you can while you cook to make the final cleanup a lot easier.

Pan fried some chicken cooked some rice and made a nice vegetable soup tonight

growing out of it to be perfectly honest

it means standing still and monitoring as well constantly computing when should that aWeSOme taste will break out; ARGGGGGGH
plus will just go hungry again in several moments (^>_>^

may as well lay out all dishes at times for the day. in the meantime can craft coffee though so MEH

love it but it takes skill and patience to make so barely paying off.
