Any living creature from earth would either go into pure panic or at least feel a sense of unease when meeting an alien. My reasoning is that all life on earth is originally from the same basic original cells that first appeared on ancient earth. Then those cells evolved into all the shit that's on the planet today

So we are connected to all living things on our planet. Like if you think of it as an evolutionary tree and every creature making up the branches. The single cell original life being the tree's roots

An alien is from a totally different tree. So we have no connection and I think earth life would sense this and be disturbed in the back of their minds. Something that we may have to deal with if we ever meet aliens

however, it could be terrifying too. Infants are known to show heightened fear around spiders and i think snakes automatically.

whats gonna make a species comfortable is probably gonna be how similar it is. Look at how humans love most mammals, but are scared of insects and weirded out by fish

Yes I suppose it would depend on what they look like. If they are just star trek aliens (just humans with different looking heads basically) or if they look completely bizarre

This makes no sense. Panic is something we evolved as a survival mechanism.

I'd say the odds of instinctual fear are only 50/50.
Keep in mind, they gotta deal with meeting a germ infested human.
