What's indisputable is that Trump has put charging Obama with treason for frivolous bullshit on the table. If the US were a functioning democracy, that by itself would be enough to get Trump impeached and removed from office for gross abuse of power.

Whether or not it actually happens is a separate issue.

It's not frivolous, but it gets away from the hypothetical that was discussed. What was brought up originally was frivolous, with Trump going against Obama in a race and trying to charge him for treason.

However, as per the article, the DOJ claimed that they had irrefutable evidence that Obama tampered with an election and Trump responded by telling them to investigate it. Every president would respond that way, even if Trump does benefit from it. Anyone found tampering with an election should be held for treason, even if I personally doubt the claims of Obama doing it.

But nothing has come from it since, so it's likely just the usual bullshit.

So we've already backpedaled from "He's not gonna try to target Obama or Mamdani, it's hot air" to "Okay so he's trying but it hasn't actually happened yet so technically..."

There is no evidence that he is trying to try either of them. He's following up on a claim and nothing has happened since. Trying someone is not the same as investigating a lead, however misconstrued that lead might be.

The bolded is a lie. Trump's political appointees to DOJ saying stupid and false shit is not "the DOJ" saying such things.

Don't know if I agree with that. Like, I do to a degree agree with the message you're trying to say, but at the same time, they do represent the DOJ.

Unsure if it's already been covered but no, Trump should not have won in 2020. Ideally he should have been arrested for his attempted coup, his cronies also jailed, and it should have been Biden or Harris destroying some loser Republican like Desantis.

Ideally Trump should have never won in 2016 but the dems should have at least learned their lessons from that election and not brought the same loser consultants back for Kamala's run.

anyway, any second Trump term was going to be a disaster. If he wins in 2020 we are still deep in Covid with him as president. Biden was a huge help in at least stopping the bleeding there. And that's only one thing.

It was in a Israel/Palestine topic. I could be thinking about someone else, but I believe he made a comment about people here being "thankful for the genocide going on because it meant they won an internet argument" or something vile like that.
