I think it sucks AlphaDream died, but also, their later entries seemed to be widely considered a lot weaker that SS or BiS, and Dunkey self-admittedly doesn't care for JRPGs outside a few exceptional games. --- https://imgur.com/gallery/dXDmJHw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75GL-BYZFfY ... Yeah while I liked Parters in Time and Bowser's Inside Story, they really don't match the absolute brilliance that was Superstar Saga. Why is it that the mario rpgs seem to get diminishing returns. Paper Mario 1 was still the best one. Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is still the best one. They seem to knock it out of the park the first time and the successive entries... aren't as close. But still, I was really hoping to finally get an rpg for the switch I'd love (that's not already on ps4/ps5) because Wii got Xenoblade 1 and that was the magnum opus of the console, yet Switch never got such a thing and now it's been succeeded by a successive console so the boat's been missed. --- http://i.imgur.com/0UFI0T9.jpg ... IMO Dunkey doesn't really like jRPGs that much so I don't take his opinions on those too seriously. But I did hear Brothership was kinda mediocre. Some loved it, but apparently it suffers from a supremely slow start like other more modern M&L games. Maybe the devs at Alphadream lost their touch, because even the Superstar Saga remake made the game kinda boring, because they decided to slow everything down on it. Doesn't feel quick and snappy like the original GBA version. --- Game collection: http://www.backloggery.com/bakonbitz Gaming channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwVQm69J7bGScbv3_50C0dA ... Brothership starts obscenely slow and about 15 hours in the combat becomes JUST okay. I have about 30 put into it and it just keeps on going. --- https://garioshi.neocities.org ... Copied to Clipboard!

Brothership is good but too long and not that well paced its better than at least two AlphaDream M&L games, maybe three --- BLACK LIVES MATTER Games: http://backloggery.com/wrldindstries302 \\ Music: http://www.last.fm/user/DrMorberg/ ... Copied to Clipboard!

I mean yeah I wouldn't say there's love lost for alpha dream necessarily, but I'm just more surprised that after decades the next mario luigi title ended up being... this poorly received. Don't know what is it about Nintendo and rpgs in the last 15 years I don't think I've liked anything from them besides when they finally brought Xenoblade to the Wii, and they didn't even do that! --- http://i.imgur.com/0UFI0T9.jpg ... Having not watched the video, I'd say that in my opinion, I found Mario & Luigi: Brothership to be "fairly passable" (at best). Not my least favorite Mario & Luigi game (which happens to be Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time), but there were just so many issues I had with it that ranged from its tasteless presentation to dry gameplay elements that even made the Battle Plugs too torturous for me to use compared to the Badge system from even the DS version of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. I wish I was lying when I say that I'll never play this game again. saspa posted... Paper Mario 1 was still the best one. Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is still the best one.Agreed. Though I enjoyed most of the later entries of both series, these are still my favorites for their gameplay, stories, characters, pacing, balancing, etc.. --- "Paper Mario needs a 'Sonic Mania' right now", my feedback for Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling survey ...
