Wild Arms 3 has a banger intro. I loved the game, but have forgotten 99% of what I played.

Love the Wild Arms series and have played 1-4+ACF multiple times. Think I've given 5 2 or 3 tries but never bothered to finish it.

Id say ICO, its short and classic, although it is nearing 25 years old and showing it.

i don't mind old games and can handle it even if it's jarring. so i look forward to ico when i finally play the dame game

Ico is kinda eh tbh.

It's atmospheric and artsy and stuff but it's not particularly fun to play. It's one big escort mission where your only weapon against intangible shadow monsters is a literal 2x4.

The Last Story was great. Unique combat. Plus, it was another game that we almost didn't get in the US

meh i will still play it cuz i enjoyed those types of games and even if it's dated i am willing to playthru them like mostly replay SH4 yearly so i doubt this game will annoying me as much as SH4 did
and wow ico come back with a punch and seems set to win. guess it's the winner then with 20 min to go will it hold or get knocked down!!

yeah i remember the fans showing there is a market for xenoblade/last story/pandora's tower which i am glad it got translated....but man i remember being pissed about grace tho like i get why the ps3 version was picked but still stings they heard it from the wii fans and ditched them for ps3 like i felt that was a dick move from bamco at that time and still do

Nah, "meh" doesn't mean bad. It's still worth a play. I just wouldn't be in a hurry to get to it over better games tbh.

it's always jarring seeing the low res pre rendered cutscenes while the ingame assets you can upscale time and look good for a 20+ year old game and also

this music when i heard it once got stuck in my head for weeks so hearing it again now it's back with full force

That main song is pretty incredible. After putting it into context with the game it becomes even better.

this is one of those games where i need a guide to speedthru but it takes the fun out of it when you need to figure it out blindly to get the fun part of these types of games huh. oh well i will limit relying on guide and try to play as blindly as i can

the combat is clunky along with the escort mechanic which will take time for me to get used to it but it's not as bad as i thought it would be but i can see it getting annoying later

i remember trying the game a bit but never got back to it cuz i had other games to play thru and most of my time on wii on it's final days were taken by project zero 2 remake and 4 which i found to be a great game but flawed and hated the utter slow pace of moving and those fucking ghost hands
and finally xenoblade man the hours i lot myself to that game still hits me so i am looking forward to finally clear the last story one of these days after i clear wild arms 3

man looking back ps2/dreamcast/xbox/gamecube consoles really broke grounds on graphics back then the water animation looks cool even now
anyway man i had to read up on guides and even look up video cuz i legit was stumped after our meeting with the mother and i was lost on what to do or where to go. i even did a facepalm on myself when i didn't realize i could swing off the chains and for some reason thought i couldn't in my mind so that was a moment of me going ''d'oh'' when i saw that was the solution

wut........it just ends on the two on a island and that's it.......oh forgot this the SoC team but man this game needs a remake not a remaster and expend more of the lore at least.
overall this is one of those fun games i would've loved to go blind but older me now can't take being stumped on what to do anymore so i give this game a 6/10 for it's time but god the controls were annoying and it pissed me off the enmy being spongy and seem to reading my inputs so they perfectly dodge my attack and camera control and lastly fucking motion blurs made me woozy half the time so i would give this a 3/10 just on that front

up next wild arms 3.......i like the ost but man i hate the auto text advancing in certain scenes and if this ever gets a remake i hope to god they turn it off. i hate missing texts cuz the game was too fast for me to catch it but overall i like the OST of the series so looking forward to finally getting thru it this time

man this aged well on the grapfic front the cellshading still looks fantastic and i am messing with the emulation to slow down on the auto advancing cutscenes so i don't miss the texts which if this ever gets a remaster please turn it off or hell do a remake and add voice acting into those scene then

Speaking of SRW translations, have you considered A Portable? Its considered the hardest of more modern SRW games, but its honestly my favorite. I beat it 8 times in Japanese. I recently got a laptop for the first time in years and am going to play the translation.

but before it i want to playthru the masaki gaiden games remake on psp which i found a wonky way to translated it with OCR software and the machine translation is just bad but i am mostly using the read aloud fuction to ease it and make the game make sense cuz i understand spoken japaness a bit

Yeah I played through those when my Japanese comprehension was near its highest. Its been too long since I lived there though (I lived in Nagoya for awhile). I didnt use my language skills. I taught introductory Japanese for a few years but it really didnt help with my own language skills.
