I'd seen a viral post going around about a man who was going to face 20 years in prison for injuring an ICE officer that the judge dismissed, and wondered if it was viral bullshit that made me feel good. I only came across this Findlaw article and no news about it. That's a reliable source, which makes me wonder why it's not getting more coverage.

Literally what the headline says:

• ICE finds out a guy is undocumented based on a tip/accusation
• ICE can't find an order of removal and doesn't think they can get a warrant for his arrest
• ICE stalks his house and arrests him anyway, accusing him of all sorts of crimes in the process against ICE personnel
• ICE personnel cuts himself after breaking a window, blames victim they have no warrant to arrest
• judge dismisses, and, while I'm not a lawyer completely fluent in legal and could be wrong, says ICE are a bunch of goddamn liars and thugs who resorted to force with no reason to

Should have made more headlines? It's 10 days old already.

Something similar happened a couple years ago. A guy was standing outside a hotel he was a guest of, late at night. Cop accused him of loitering and tried to arrest him. During the act of trying to handcuff him, cop had a heart attack and died. The man was charged with murder. But eventually charges were dropped after public outcry

Love to see the Gestapo getting wrecked.

This is good to hear but the scary part is ICE are so comfortable with this behavior that it means they do it all the time successfully and we never hear about it
