I hated the FFT re-translation as both lords and commoners spoke it to an annoying degree. Now the Dragon Quest remake I got a few hours ago is doing it too. I always think less of people that complain about these localizations. They have flavor and soul and aren't just packed with modern memes and verbage. I really hope they ignore all the complainers for future remakes and new games and keep using this style. You can crank that up to 100% As far as I can tell, GoT is the first appearance of the word "Ser" in that context and everything after that is kind of a snowball. Words like "gaol" were really uncommon even when they were in use but at least they were used by real people in real conversations hundreds of years ago.
