Some exciting news. My parents both retired in the past few years and found a house near the Twin Cities (Minnesota) to be closer to me and my brothers. This is great, as we will be able to get together more often and they'll be able to be in my nieces and nephews life even more often. However, it's bittersweet due to them having to sell my childhood home. I am fine but it is a bit sad to see. It will be better to have them near though.

Besides Thanksgiving, I am trying to set up a friends-giving with some coworker friends. One of them is from Florida and doesn't have a good relationship with his abusive parents, so this would be a great way for him to have some place to go. Plus, I love Thanksgiving with the family, but let's be honest, the parties with friends are always so much more fun. And while I don't believe in the supernatural, I did recently buy a Ouija board to try out at my next party, just because I know some people do believe I think it could be fun.

Other than that, enjoying the weather while it's still great. This goddamn heat is finally done and it was in the 50s today. Cool but comfortable. I walked over 7 miles downtown in it today. If I could live in a place where it's like this year around, I would be so happy.

What are all of your plans for November?

not really sure what the rest of the month has in store, but will deal with it a day at a time.

however, Ive recently filled out a lot of job applications, and The Fresh Market was the first to bite the hook! Got an email from the store manager stating they invited me to come in for an interview, will send a reply in the morning with a time for tomorrow (Thursday).

We're doing a big family trip to Cancun with my wife/kids, my parents, two of my sisters and all of their kids! It's super nice getting to do this kind of thing with my parents so all their grand kids get to have fun on vacation with them. I have really been looking forward to this. My parents are in their 70's and I don't really know if we'll ever have a chance to do something like this again.

gave notice to my current job, there's a contractual notice period so have to finish working that

Since moving to Scotland, I typically just go to Texas for either Christmas or Thanksgiving, alternating each year. But this year, my dad passed away in May, so I'm going home for both and just staying a bit over a month. Just this year, being the first holidays without.

I'm in charge of the turkey now so that terrifies me.

will have like 6 days I have to work UK hours (but late start so like 5am start in Texas) before my notice period ends, then just going to wait for the new job to start once I get back in the UK after Christmas so have a decent time off, including a week off in the UK which will be nice.

Until then I don't have any unusual plans. Work, see friend, maybe a DND session or pub quiz next week, have a nice date day with my fianc before I leave him for a month. Maybe I'll go to the Christmas market before I leave.

Just throw it in the microwave for something like 3 hours and you'll be golden.

Nothing interesting. I'm skipping Thanksgiving. November is one of my least favorite months.
