Yeah, they released an overview video today and there are several companions. He might just be a tutorial guy so he overexplains everything.

Also everyone was setting off major death flags so they'll all probably gradually get killed off...!

This just sounds more like the natural progression of what Metroid Prime 3 was and not an Other M situation. Those characters did distract from the game a bit, but it was still a game that was fun to play

Like I'm not sure anyone was expecting Prime 4 to be some masterpiece given the development history

I do provide an incredibly valuable service to Nintendo fanboys who are disappointed by bad games to blame it all on me and ignore the realities of a decade of poorly managed game development and widespread crises in the industry to which Nintendo is certainly not immune

But it's honestly more likely that I'll be pleasantly surprised by the game and have to defend it while gamers beat their drums against it, like MP2 and MP3

I mean you're not wrong, and I sort of awkwardly mixed points, but if you haven't seen it that's absolutely what's going on here too.

Also maybe Claptrap isn't as tutorial-based as I think. I haven't played, I just know people soured on him over the years.

It'll be an interesting chase, Metroid's never sold much more than 3 million copies (Dread did I think?)
