His first episode was brilliant because it highlighted a huge problem with public perception of Biden and Democrat messaging. A lot of people, not just right-wingers, are worried Biden is too old, and he doesn't have it anymore.
That segment was a warning shot to democrats that they need to do more than what they have been doing, more than what they did in 2016 and many other elections. It's not enough to say "at least he's not the other guy." That's not a winning strategy, and they can't take it for granted that the voters will show up for them. People want (and have a right) to feel excited about the person they're going to vote for.
Sure, part of that is not making a habit of running a guy in his 80s, but a much bigger part of that is not just talking about how Biden can still do it, but actually showing him doing it.
