Just use Brave. It works and has always worked for YT. It's the only thing I've found that does. I just wish you could inspect elements and nuke them. And idk if it keeps the adblock lists updated.

Should mention, brave has been great for a while now but is slowly becoming the only browser worth using in my experience. No extensions on mobile but the built-in blockers work well.
