Him trying to get a "gotcha" with Garland was a really stupid move in retrospect. Did no one in the Democratic party think he was anything more than a compromise pick to try to get someone through the Senate?
And yeah, Biden should have stuck by his pledge of being a transitional President and said he wasn't seeking reelection, if not from the start of his Presidency, then at least in time to have a proper primary. He was too old for the job and he had to know he was slipping.
Furthermore, his poll numbers never recovered from the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal and went even lower afterward. The American people wanted a change and he should have provided an alternative to himself other than Fascism.
Reports also came out that he prevented Kamala from distancing herself from him during the election. Something about "defending his legacy". Guess what your legacy is now Biden? Trump!
Wasn't the Afghanistan withdrawal mostly Trump's doing? IIRC, he set it up as a disaster on purpose.
