That's what you get for using DailyFail as a source. What, you couldn't find anything in the BBC or Independent about this? You do understand that DailyFail is a trashy celebrity tabloid, right? In the UK it is referred to as a "black top" tabloid, which is roughly equivalent to a middle market tabloid in the United States.

Examples of middle-market aka black top rags include DailyFail, Faily Beast, FailyExpress, New York Faily News, USA Today, and Chicago-Sun Times. Buzzfeed may or may not be considered middle-market; it was undeniably middle-market in the past.

Compare this to downmarket aka red top rags which include National Enquirer, The Globe, Faily Mirror, Faily Star, The Sun.uk, and the now-defunct Gawker

One of the defining characteristics of both types is that photos take up the majority of the page space, compared to more legit newspapers, where large images are mostly restricted to the cover page and/or say-- the opening pages for the weather and sports sections. Though not universal, another common characteristic is the presence of listicles. Lots and lots of listicles. Home remedy "miracle cure" articles are also common to both (garlic being the most frequent) One of the hallmark characteristics of Middle Market rags are clickbait/sensationalist headlines.
You typed a lot to respond to someone who isn't even the OP. I only read the article...
