In the US in most states you can be fired for virtually anything at any time without warning.

The only time employers generally need to give advance notification is if an entire workcenter or shop is closing down (aka, mass layoff).

Generally conservatives love that about American capitalism. The only times they are against a termination is when they can exploit it for political reasons.
