That's just awful. But it makes sense too.
I don't think i could live with myself doing nothing though. Scream for help, use your phone to call the police, throw your bag at the guy. Something, anything, if you are unable to combat a criminal directly.

I wonder what it will take for people to do something or for the law to change. If a criminal was trying to rape a woman on the train, would people ignore it too? Don't answer that.....
Maybe I should start carrying some pepper spray, to help myself, and others.
