The reason for that is that the Toonami run of OS did not have episode 23 (think it was 23). It was basically deemed a......bit too naughty to be edited down, so it was skipped in that run, and probably for good reason. Quite a bit of nudity and the like.

I also remembered being lost in those days because in the last two episodes Gene whips out some super powered caster shells and I was like, "Where in the hell did he get those when in the whole series, it's evident that those are expensive and hard to come by?". Episode 23 answers those questions.
