So I'm going to be the bigger man and not take my victory lap. This will be my last post on this board but I wanted to leave some thoughts.
Trump won not because he was the better candidate but because we are a shit country full of shit people. You know it, I know it. We have to ask ourselves if we are going to stop running from truths we don't want to hear or that make us uncomfortable and commit to real change. Real. Fucking. Change. How? I don't know, that question is best left to a different generation. I do know being an e-warrior on GameFAQs with your memes, assurances and ignorant hyper-hope ain't going to get it done.
You were all quick to label my a Trumper because I called his victory. I spent 20 years in the military and have literally seen friends and colleagues die to ensure your right to not only run your mouth but vote as you see fit. I hate everything that man stands for but I know that he's not an outlier; he's us.
I cried like a baby in 2016 and just got done commiserating with my wife here in 2024. My niece, whom we raise, is a transwoman and the thought of what she will now face makes me want to run in a straight line until I hit a different border. I take no pleasure in the reality we now live in.
Anywho, hope you all can find some peace. We can survive this; good chance we don't though. You going to get to work?
