My first introduction to Darkstalkers characters was in Super Puzzle Fighters II Turbo on the original Playstation.
They were again present in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.
Aside from that, I had no idea it was a separate fighting game franchise until 2003 or so when Pyron and Dmitri started showing up in the Outskirts Battledome.
