Probably. Although I've more often done mid-tier places since the luxury ones aren't available everywhere.

First luxury hotel I ever stayed at was the Waldorf in NYC. I was 19 and traveling alone. (my parents never took me on nice trips growing up)
It was fun. It was at that moment that I fell in love with room service.
I thought about it in Vegas, but ended up going for a mid-tier suite. I regret even that.
I stayed at a Hilton and I think a Marriot once.

Usually just Best Westerns.
For Duluth it was one of the highest ones, but I guess it was more mid tier.

Meaning it wasn't on your parents' dime? Sounds like bullshit.

Stayed in some 4-star resort in Florida when I went to Universal in 2014, if that counts as a luxury hotel. Don't remember the name of it.

I'm also almost positive I've stayed at a Ritz Carlton before, but I can't remember exactly where. I used to do a lot of traveling.

Yes; one time. My German host family took me to one in Basel, Switzerland during a road trip we took of the area.

No, the fanciest hotels i've stayed at were great hotels with amazing rooms but nothing like true luxury.

A smaller hotel in coronado, ca with an apartment feel, was very spacious and like 10 people were inside to get ready for a wedding and it was fine.

A mariott residence in. hotel room was awesome, though made for millenials with adequate areas for charging shit and laptop use.

Nothing overly luxurious, just higher end regular people stuff. they did not have dick sucking service either
I stayed in Marriott once. It's nice and all with big bed, smart TV, bathtub and all.

But overall, it's expensive. They even charge for wifi. Coffee in the room ain't complementary either. I wouldn't do that on its own unless it's bundled with a travel package. Even back then, I only stayed there because it's bundled with the travel package I bought.
Never stayed at any at all.

When I was like 10, the airport put my family up in the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston when there was plane trouble, and we ended up in some big fancy suite (I want to say the Adams suite or something, but I don't clearly remember) because it was the only non-smoking room they had available (my then-4-year-old sister was severely asthmatic, so smoking wasn't an option). I don't remember a lot about it, except that it was pretty big and fancy. Based on what I remember, though, I wouldn't splurge on such a room. Waste of money.

Yes but only in Vegas and many years ago.

Nope. Plenty of mid tier hotels and a lot of low end hotels.

I've never really done much in the way of travel for work (except for the last year where I was going to and from Africa), and during my various vacations I've never really found a noticeable enough difference between low and mid tier hotels, so I've never felt the urge to try a luxury hotel.

When it comes down to it, I'm basically only in the hotel room to sleep whenever I do travel, so I don't really want to spend a ton of money on it. I can sleep basically anywhere.
Assassins do it from behind.
I normally just camp out on a bench of a night if im down london or somewhere, much cheaper.
What would you classify the Encore from Wynn as?
That is the most luxurious place ive stayed in.

What? Everyone knows Ritz-Carlton is a subsidiary of Marriott--just like Waldorf Astoria is owned by Hilton. The mega hotel chains have properties across all price points. Their namesake chains are both mid-tier though.

I've stayed at a few, usually when my rich grandfather paid for everyone in the family, but a few times I paid myself for me and my wife.

The best ones have free shrimp, champaign etc (I don't drink alcohol though).

I think the most expensive I stayed at myself was the Fairmont in SF, which was only around $300 a night or so. I don't shell out more then that unless my wife was with me (she liked to be spoiled).

I like that hotel but I wouldn't really call it luxury, probably high end of mid-tier.

Luxury

I have stayed in one then.
It is definitely a really nice experience. The staff were friendly, the room was big, and nicely layed out.
Comparing it to the largest room i have had (The International in Calgary, AB) it was much better. Had to stay somewhere in Calgsry for work, and since i lived close enough to Calgary they didnt want to pay for my room, so I cheaped out. Should have done the Westin or Sheraton instead.
Stayed at the Hilton in Chicago over 20 years ago, but that's about it for "higher end" motels

In America? If the Fairmont and Sir Francis Drake in SF count then yeah.

Outside the US? Yeah I've stayed in a full service villa down in Progresso in Mexico.
No and I probably wouldn't ever. Doesn't seem worth the money for me. I'm not high maintenance and I really like using Air BnB.

I did it once and I'm in no rush to go back. Give me a comfortable place to sleep/bathe, and that's about all I really need from a hotel. I'm not about to dump hundreds more dollars a night into anything beyond that.

I am of the opinion that the hotel is just as important as the destination.

People said i was crazy for spending the extea for staying at the Encore, its been the best hotel I have stayed at. Though my best experience staying at a place, would have been on the Viking Prestige river cruise ship. The meals were excellent, the room was nice, the staff were really friendly.
The nicest hotel I've stayed in is the Westin Bonaventure in LA (it's a 4* hotel). I like it a lot. Whenever I go to downtown LA, I stay there.

But yeah, most of the time I stay in low to shit tier hotels/motels. I feel lucky that I've never encountered a room with bed bugs, because honestly I'm cheap as hell for that kind of thing. I only need a hotel room to sleep in and take a shower. When I go somewhere, I'm spending all of the rest of my time actually enjoying that location.
This isn't the signature that you're looking for.
I stayed at a luxury hotel when I went to Italy. I spent 2 nights in a small town about 100km outside of Venice, and I picked the luxury one because it ended up being about as expensive as the hotels I was in for Rome and Florence. Was nice, but no way would I spend NYC price for a room.

Mostly I stay at mid-tier hotels, and only stay in low-tier (or no-tier) hotels if I am trying to save money. If you want proof why you should avoid crappy hotels:
