Already played 6, 10, 14, 15, and 16. And I'm playing 9 right now. Left out 11.

Of the spinoffs, I've already played Stranger of Paradise, X-2, and Type-0.

6,7,9,10 are top tier and you already played 6,10, and are playing 9 so that leaves 7.

Outside of the main titles you should really play Final Fantasy Tactics someday. It's top tier too.

You should play FF7 at some point. It's not one of the best FF games imo but it's probably the most famous and a really important game in the series.

I wouldn't go right into another PS1 FF after 9 though. Since FF9 is the nostalgia game it'd probably be a good time to play FF1.

I think I read that Tactics takes place in 12's world -- the one that the Ivalice questline in FF14 is based off? I'm guessing I don't need to play 12 to understand Tactics?

I think it's actually Tactics Advance that takes place in 12's world, not sure if Tactics itself is actually connected or if they just combined the two for 14's questline

Play FF5 next. It's the second best in the series after FF6 imo.

WotL has FFXII characters. But I never played it and don't know how canon it is (like Cloud's cameo)

7 is one of the best. If your playing on PC you can use the 7th Heaven mod to upgrade the graphics some if you prefer.
Trying is the first step towards failure, so just dont give it a shot and you cant dissapoint.

I never played 12, but Tactics is a standalone game for PS1, and I think it came out before 8, so it's definitely not required to play 12.

They don't really take place in each other's worlds. 12 just reuses the cosmology of Tactics and the races from Tactics advance.

Looks like I'll prioritize 7 and 4 then.

I want to play the 7 remakes, but figured it's best to play the original first so I know what's been changed. (Also, since the remake splits up the story.)
