Are you middle class?

Based on my household income and size, I would be considered upper middle class

Lower middle class

I live in the poorest general area of the US and don't have much more than enough to make sure basic needs are met.

Not even close. That would be so nice.

According to the state of Maryland, my family would qualify as upper middle class.

But if you look at the cost of housing around here, sometimes it doesnt feel like it.

This question presupposes the middle class still exists.

I can afford to rent a small apartment by myself, but I'll never own a home where I live.

Here in Maryland in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson metro, our family of 3 (wife, daughter, me) is at least upper middle class.

Yes. Not sure where Id fall within middle class but Im somewhere there. I make good money for my geographical area. It wouldnt be good enough for more expensive areas of the country but its in the Midwest in an area where cost of living is cheap.

I have a nice house and vehicle which are both completely paid for. I only have required monthly bills like utilities, food, stuff like that. I live cheaply and have quite a bit of money I just throw into investments and savings each month. I live very comfortably.

Im looking to retire in about 10 years and honestly its not even money that keeps me working, itll be insurance coverage.

Yeah, I'd say I'm firmly middle class. My parents are either upper middle class, or upper class.
