No, but this is the plan and always has been since the insurrection attempt on Jan 6 failed

keep regurgitating the word insurrection and applying it to every other thing as a means of devaluing that word to the idiotic american public so they eventually think that the actual insurrection wasn't bad or shouldn't be punished
Well, that strategy worked for Republicans regarding impeachment, where their partisan shit show vs. Bill Clinton was 1/3 animus vs. Clinton, 1/3 burying Nixon's crimes, and 1/3 burying the inevitable future impeachable acts of a Republican president.

Hes down to his last attempt to delay.

Then hes mine.

Its election fraud bullshit. She's saying when Biden was inaugurated that was an insurrection because of their bullshit claims of "widespread election fraud" which still have never been proven.

I'm sure they're endearing themselves to the moderates when they ask about the future and they keep talking about 2020.

While it was frustrating that we didn't have a decision for so long this order certainly made the wait worth it. First it is obvious that it was as much written for the Supreme Court as it was for Trump. Second, you had three judges, one of which was appointed by a Republican unanimously agreeing. Third, the order was written to bring Trump's delay tactics to a halt.

In addition to giving him a deadline to appeal to the Supreme Court they also addressed what will happen if Trump tries to go for an en banc hearing. In that case they lift the stay and will only stay the case if Trump is successful in getting an en banc hearing.

Basically it will throw out everything Weisselberg testified to, so if there was anything he said that would have been a credit to Trump then the judge will not consider it in his ruling.

Which, to be fair, should change basically nothing. He probably comes down a bit more harshly on Trump than he was already going to for providing a witness who Trump knew was lying. Trump might get a bap on the head with a rolled up newspaper instead of a slap on the wrist

Assume the worst possible option from his testimony. Since he was the one that talked about evaluations, assume the worst.

In other words, Trump is doubly fucked. His businesses are going to be sold off as if he was bankrupt. The likelihood of getting bank loans after being found guilty of lying to banks is also low.

The convictions he faces later this year are going to sink his chances at being President, so no foreign favors.

I think the question is more a matter of did Trump ask Weisselberg to lie rather than adjusting anything because he lied.

Allen Weisselberg is the one who said it was a coincidence that Trump was periodically paying him as part of a $2,000,000 severance that just happened to be almost the exact amount that Weisselberg had to pay in tax fraud fines.

He's already blacklisted from any U.S.-based banks due to his shenanigans in the 90s, hence why he needs to have foreign investors. Not sure if Saudi Arabia or Russia, his primary loan officers, would actually care about him being found liable for failing to pay back U.S. banks. And if he fails to repay them , well, Trump's around windows at some point, I imagine.

That's true, and I do remember that, however Bonesaw gave Kushner 2bn, against the advice of all his financial people, for essentially providing him with a list of anti-MBS Saudis that he used to seek retribution against them, however I highly doubt that's the first and only time he's financially bankrolled the Trumps.

Russia is their sugar daddy, no doubt, it's just not their only one.

As we've learned Trump received over 7m from foreign entities within his first 2 years of office, with the majority of it coming from China.

What I'd really like to see is investigation of the GOP command and control links between the January 6 mob and the Trump white house. They must exist, and there's no shortage of GOP ratfuckers like Stone that would have happily done the job.

is that what that deal was about? as far as i was aware nobody really knew why the Saudis gave Kushner the $2b, and no one who was a part of the deal were jumping up to explain it. i've always felt it was really fucking fishy from the first time i heard about it.
I've always assumed Kashoggi getting butchered by Prince Bonesaw's thugs was part of that dirty deal.

In order to grant certiorari it takes 4 of the 9. I think it is safe to say Sotomayor, Kagan and Jackson will vote against it. Also I will be surprised if Roberts votes for it. Thomas I think will vote for it. Can Trump get three votes between Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett? Honestly I have my doubts.

Tagging so I can laugh at the death of the Trump Org
after years of waiting
nothing came
An interesting idea came up last night from Lawerence O'Donnell: If Trump truly thought the President was immune from crimes, why didn't he simply kill Mike Pence on January 6th, put Chuck Grassley in as VP, and then have him count the votes as Trump deemed proper?

It's because he knew the President is not immune.
