Bold move from a company that got its footing stealing content.lmao I love the irony of it
It's not actually a price increase, they're just getting rid of the cheaper price for old Funimation accounts.

They had some old deal price and are just getting the current Crunchyroll one
So much bad info about this. The price is like 8.99 and staying that way, it's not going up to 20 bucks a month.
Crunchyroll is almost doubling its yearly price from $55 to $100

Cant wait to continue paying $0.00 for anime
I know my brother was thinking about getting CrunchyrollI went ahead and canceled Funimation the day it was announced and started a Crunchyroll one, and holy crap, the Funi app was garbage by comparison.
I wonder if he'll do it now lol. This sounds like a disaster

What?Crunchyroll was originally a site to pirate anime
What?Crunchyroll is like Napster. It used to be a pirate site before going legit
To be fair on the digital copies, most of them was only a feature on Funimation if you bought the physical copy of the series so it's not like you're losing access to the series.I bought a physical copy of Mirai Nikki several years ago. I tried multiple times, but no matter what I did, I couldn't actually get it to give me the free digital copy. I kept getting an error message or so. Even though it didn't really matter since I owned a physical copy, it always irked me.
So where did TC pull the pricing info from? 'Cus crunchyroll doesn't offer yearly subscriptions in the US. And going by last year's prices the cheapest tier is $95 plus tax for the whole year ($7.99/month) while the most expensive tier runs around $180(14.99/month).I read some article that said the price is going from $55 to $100 >_> I dont use either platform so idk the nuances

The "not supported at this time" verbiage gives me minor hope.
I'm curious if anyone here actually got one of these digital copies.
Close to $20 a month here in Australia, better off buying the dvds. That doesn't sound right. DVDs are expensive.
If purchase doesn't mean ownership then piracy isn't theft.Piracy isn't theft, period. It's copyright infringement.
Isn't copyright infringement a type of theft?Nope, theft would be if you stole the masters to a given copyrightable work. If you used that master to make copies to sell that would be copyright infringement.
Not that it matters, it's ok to say piracy is bad and you just don't care. Don't have to be morally right at all times.
tl;dr if you don't knowSo basically Sony created monopoly for anime.
Funimation's streaming service is shutting down and merging with Crunchyroll
People who purchased digital copies of blu-rays or DVDs on the Funimation service just straight up lose them
Crunchyroll is almost doubling its yearly price from $55 to $100
I'm not sure if Crunchyroll is gonna have everything from the Funimation service either on its platform now
And people wonder why everyone pirates anime >_>
