I mean, as someone who never played through the original FF7 in its entirety, these kinda just feel like 3 separate, full-fledged games to me so 4 year gaps are fine.
At least that's what Remake felt like.
That's what it takes if you want modern production values. This stuff takes a lot more time and money to develop than a PS1 game. This, and while this is a problem and I'm not sure what the solution is, it is what it is. Games take a huge amount of work now a days compared to previously.
And then there's this bullshit. Please look forward to part 3.Considering they join the party at the end of (where SE has been stating *for a good long while*) the point in the story that Rebirth ends, I don't know why people are surprised about this.

wtf are people bitching about? They wanted a 1:1 remake all in one game with no changes
"I don't want new things, I want the media I experienced as a kid 100 times just regurgitated back at me exactly the same as it was back then"No one said that tho.
First game was fantastic and the second looks to be the same.
Stay mad about it I guess?
No one said that tho. There have been some
Ok but do you realize.........it's not the PS1 version of the game. This like I am ok with it because of the fact that if you treat them like stand alone games they are 40-50 hour games versus the what? 30-50 hours you get out of the original?
People are still whining about this?
Still a step up from FF14 being live serviceMMOs arent considered Live services now are they?
Yeah this whole thing is beyond dumb and anticonsumer. Announced in the mid 2010s, first part comes out around the beginning of the 2020s, prequel remaster comes out a few years later, and four years after part one of the remake part two finally comes out. Part three will be out in three or four years after this one and this whole project was just to milk fans. It sucksNothing anti consumer about it though.
It's just amazing how fans are okay with it.How are fans supposed to change anything? Besides speaking with their wallet.
MMOs arent considered Live services now are they?MMOs always have been live service, plus extra bs that makes them worse for consumers than traditional live service games.

That's what it takes if you want modern production values. This stuff takes a lot more time and money to develop than a PS1 game. This is nonsense. They could have done modern production values without adding dozens of hours of padding to each part to turn one game into 3.
"I don't want new things, I want the media I experienced as a kid 100 times just regurgitated back at me exactly the same as it was back then"I never experienced this game as a kid so yeah it would have been nice to just have that but pretty.
Now milking would be stuff like all the spinoffs theyve done around FF7, but nothing wrong while its good, though a lot of it isnt.
I never experienced this game as a kid so yeah it would have been nice to just have that but pretty.I never experienced this game as a kid and am glad they did made these changes. If I want the original game except pretty, I can install mods on the Steam FF7 version (which I did after playing Remake but enjoyed Remake a lot more).

If I want the original game except pretty, I can install mods on the Steam FF7 version (which I did after playing Remake but enjoyed Remake a lot more).Mods only do so much. The game still old as shit. Something akin to Persona 3 Reload would have been great but we didn't even get the same story.
Didn't Square just get done saying how they're gonna optimize their development process so that games can be released more quickly?Even without them changing anything, I doubt Part 3 would take 4 years. A lot of the assets from Rebirth should be able to be used with minor touchups.
Rebirth took 4 years, so part-3 taking 4 years as well means they lied about their optimization.
When you play the new games, do your levels transfer over or do you have to start from scratch each time you play the game?
This is my biggest question
