I kinda want to exclude the Hulk from the discussion, because I feel like he'd unanimously be #1.

But what do you guys think?
Watch "Final Fantasy XV Abridged" and "Kingdom Hearts Abridged" right here!

Yeah, its clearly Hulk. Shang Chi has been neglected as well, more recently.
Shang Chi. Feels like his movie couldve been unrelated to the MCU at this point with how theyre handling him

Iron Fist hasn't officially become part of the MCU, yet, so he wouldn't count.

I kinda feel like Spider-Man by not having Mary Jane Watson as his love interest. I know a lot of people would have flipped a table over her being Black, but racists can suck shit.

Zendaya looks like 90s animated series Mary Jane Watson. She should have been Mary Jane Watson. I don't care how many liberties would have been taken with regards to personality or whatever else. It's not like she was consistent to begin with.

Peter should be with his OTP and not some OC.
I get not following up on shang chi is a huge miss but damn the fact that they even got this guy a banger movie and put him in a place where people want more of him is an accomplishment. Shang chi is c list and thats generous

The answer will always be hulk and i guess rights issues fucked him the most.

Quicksilver just saying "you didnt see that coming" multiple times and dying in his one appearance...in a team up must be up there
I'd also cast a vote for Vision. He was way too powerful at the time of his introduction compared to the rest of the heroes, so every time there was a fight they had to come up with some reason he couldn't take part. He basically existed to be part of Wanda's character development and that was it.

for all intents and purposes thats MCU Peters Mary Jane Watson.

Also lol at spider-man being the hero that got dropped the hardest because his love interest isnt named correctly

Because an 80% similar character isn't the same character.

I don't know if they were afraid to call her Mary Jane because it's a euphemism for marijuana. I don't know if they feared racist vitriol. It's not it makes a difference on that front because Spider-Man's love interest is still Black. I don't know if they have contempt for Mary Jane Watson as a brand name because of her association with male fantasy or being a damsel in distress.

But I don't want to see Tarzan with Janice or Superman with Luisa. That's enough to take me out of a story. It's about character legacy. If you omit the name, you omit the character.

Whats wrong with omitting the character? Its not like hes never had other love interests.
In all honesty, I think the writing was on the wall for my interest in the MCU as soon as it was announced that Disney had acquired his film rights.

I didn't mind the liberties with the characters that I didn't know or care about. Films like Captain America and Iron Man had everything to gain and nothing to lose as far as I could see. But when they introduced my character, they had to strictly adhere to what I felt Spider-Man was or I wasn't going to be happy.

I can and win complain about Spider-Man playing sidekick to other heroes. That one is on them. But I will admit that it's doubtful the MCU would have made me happy with any path they would have likely taken with Spider-Man.
God, it has to be Iron Fist. Even if it's only partly connected right now, it was so awful that it deserves the title of worst adaptation regardless.

Also, I believe they have officially have been made canon to the MCU now.

Otherwise, I'd have to say Warmachine. Has he actually done anything besides get sniped by Vision?

I don't usually get into shipping wars, but with MJ it's different. I'd sooner keep her and throw away Spider-Man than the inverse.

It would have been better for me if Spider-Man had a boring love interest. When Mary Jane Watson showed up in the final episode of season one of the 90s cartoon, it went from Spider-Man being a cool superhero with cool supervillains to Spider-Man being a self-insert fantasy about a guy who hooks up with the woman of his dreams.

When they make a hero super tied to the mcu, then ppl say it feels like homework.

When they say make a movie self contained then people say its not connected enough.

The first dr strange and black panther movies are more isolated lol.

Shang chi features abomination, Bruce banner, captain marvel and wong.

Thsts false. They were always canon and never decanonized. Even the original DD script was just going to soft reboot not full on contradict the prior.

We've known for sure DD was canon since NWH, the leaked synopsis confirms that. But it was never actually decanonized, none of the shoes were. They jsut existed in a state of uncertainty.

There was 6 years between black panther 1 and 2, there was 6 years between doctor strange 1 and 2, and 5 years between the last Thor movies.

Millennials are not boomers. The latter are the type who see 30 year olds playing video games and think its childish, when its just that times have changed. This why are you on that kid toy when you should be outside kicking a ball around like when I was a kid in the 60s shit is a thing of the past.

Superheroes are conceptually immature. It stems from a fascist fantasy to be superior to the masses. Romantic fantasies, while shunned for being vicarious substitutes for the limitations of real-life romance, are in my opinion healthier and more productive than wishing oneself to be a benevolent superior.

So, no. I don't get much fun out of Spider-Man in the absence of Mary Jane Watson. I'll never be ashamed to admit that the series is just Twilight for Boys and that I'm firmly in the shipping camp that I'm in.

Seeing a few votes for Shang-Chi because there's been no follow up on him. But is he the character done badly, or are we just upset there's been no sequel yet?

Cuz I think he was portrayed pretty well, and it being so standalone is a plus in my book -- too many MCU movies try to fall back on cameos and references for my liking. Stuff like Shang-Chi and Eternals which exist on their own are my preference.

I believe they did, but as far as the average person is concerned, something doesn't truly become canon until it's actually presented as such. Keeping the same Kingpin, for example, blatantly makes something like Daredevil canon in the minds of viewers, but while they can say Iron Fist is canon, it doesn't necessarily become canon to the viewing public until they do something to actually tie it in.

Does that make sense, for my argument? Sorry if that sounds like a whole bunch of nothing, it's kinda tough to relay how I feel they've portrayed things.

I'll get flak for this, but Thor

I can't stand what they did to him after Age of Ultron.

I get that making the character a dumb himbo and turning his films into comedies was a way to give Hemsworth some more to work with, but the character is absolutely missing that larger-than-life sense of grandeur that he and his stories have in the comics.

Like give me an actual Thor movie with an epic scale to it
