Damn, I'm so impressed with Yuzu

With all the attention of what happened to the developers that it brought to the emulator, I finally tried it out. And it basically runs everything like a dream . New or old. Maybe I'm not running it long enough, and it will all freeze up or something, but 0 issues so far. No wonder so many people are getting the Steamdeck or Odin 2 for this, and PC games.

The emulator itself is good but the people behind it are greedy, the way they operate is not what the scene should be about.

Well, they're gone now, and got what was coming to them.

Well, since Yuzu's code is open-source, I expect we'll soon see a fork developed by good developers who aren't afflicted with that fatal flaw.
I'm just salty that Citra got hit because of this stupid shit.

I managed to snag the latest Citra build, but development ceasing until it gets forked sucks

As soon as they tried to get funding, Nintendo brought down the hammer.

If it's hobbyists just making an accurate emulator for free - they could have kept going.

Try to get a patreon up or charging for it? BAM.

my understanding is that it tends to run switch games better than the switch itself
THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!! THERES SO MUCH PEOPLE READING AND POSTING STUIPED STUFF
I treat emulation like I am trying out demo. I play the game beat it then if I like it I decide to buy it because I only buy games I like if I don't like a game I would never buy it so there is no lost sale because I wouldn't have bought the game if I didn't like it but if I did I would buy it because I like it so there is no lost sale because I would never buy a game I don't like.
I play video games.
fun fact the devs are big Bleach fans which is why they named the emulator Yuzu

They could have used their heads and get around it with loopholes. Such as selling Yuzu t-shirts, and other merchs. Nintendo can't do anything there, actually they would, but they wouldn't win.

I totally wouldn't know firsthand but in a lot of instances, yes. Also it natively supports PS5 controllers which end up having better motion controls and 1:1 HD rumble accuracy.
Thanks for reading!
I set up Ryujinx the other night since Yuzu was removed from EmuDeck and I cant be arsed to manually maintain it, and honestly I think I like Ryujinx better. But yes. You can emulat Switch games at ex resolution and 60 FPS with either of them. The only reason to use a Switch is to dump the games.

I can't get Ryujinx to do anything and I don't know why.

Ryujinx requires firmware and product keys which both have to be dumped from your Switch I believe

I'm not up to speed, I thought Yuzu was killed by Nintendo?
It was open source, so it's still out there (and a fork will eventually take its place; several are already being worked on). The original devs just won't be working on it anymore.
Do, or do not. There is no Trumble.

Oh, okay. Thanks.
It's basically impossible to make anything that's popular and open source disappear. Someone else will always end up taking over.

They do need those but they are super easy to find online.

So does Yuzu.

Last I checked the original Fire Emblem Warriors is a complete bust, will freeze a few seconds into any fight including the tutorial.

Also a pretty game breaking glitch in Pokemon Sword/Shield that 80% of the time freezes the game during any forced save (not auto-save or regular manual save) including throwing a wishing star to create a raid, completing the final boss (though this seems to freeze less, didn't freeze the three times I completed it) and most importantly during Dynamax Adventures (which does a forced save twice, one at the beginning and one after the Adventure is over which can take 15-30 minutes). There are some suggested fixes for it, the main one being to disable multicore but that just simply doesn't start the game for me. The other one is disabling Async on an incredibly old build, versions 645 and below. This makes the game run at 3-10 frames per second turning the Dmax adventures into hour long events. From my experience this nearly always successfully gets past the forced saves though.
