I mean...I know we just lost Toriyama, but after a year that was just redoing the movie its a bit alarming that Toyotaro had no idea what was planned to happen. I thought him and Toriyama were at least working together but if Toyotaro was just doing the drawing and has no idea what to do from here then...this is rather bad.

Let the series end, it's at a good point for it. They just finished up the Super Hero retelling arc and haven't set up a new villain or anything yet, all they're doing is Goku vs. Beast Gohan.

It's kind of a perfect point to let it stop. Maybe do one more epilogue chapter and that's it. Don't try to continue it without Toriyama, even if his storytelling in Super was slipping -- the characters themselves and the tone won't feel the same.

I mean...its not really a great time to stop at all, nothing's been resolved with Beerus and the whole point of Super is for Goku to at last surpass him...not to mention Frezia is out there stronger then ever, and that we still have not seen Whis fight seriously, and that the mad child god Zeno has to be taken out to.

I'm sure it will continue in a couple months. This could have been a scheduled one month break for all we know, they had one a few months back too. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it's more than one month for obvious reasons, but Toyotaro was pretty much in control with Toriyama providing guidance at this point. They'll regroup and continue. Too much money to be made.

Technically no, Frieza found a Hyperbolic Time Chamber and used it to train for 10(?) years and achieve a new Black form that was able to annihilate somebody who had been wished as the "most powerful fighter in the universe" in one very casual hit.

Goku tells everyone that Frezia coming back won't be any problem and then only a arc later Frezia is stronger then everyone and Goku just laughs it off...as planets are dying...I hated how Goku did not have to face any responsibility for how much suffering that caused even when Granola's whole arc should have been about that.

If there are no notes, and the protg doesn't have a vision for it, it's time to let it go.

To be very fair, if there are any notes, they are probably very messy and disjointed lol. He was like that.

But perhaps a break will help. Who knows?

Understandable but still disappointing.

But I guess without Toriyama's guidance, Toyotaro has no clue how to proceed with the story. The two of them worked very closely together, so the production is currently adrift without a captain to helm their ship.

Not sure what you're talking about. They took him out of hell to fight in the tournament and he got revived afterwards so he never went back there.

Goku isnt a hero tho, he literally says many times hes not a hero and doesnt want to be seen as one. He only cares about fighting strong guys

Frezia kills Brolly's father and this time he was not even a evil person and Goku, as Gogeta just says to try harder next time. The only thing worst is that everyone just, does not even react to it, or they just kind of accept no one can stop Goku so they are at the mercy of the whims of a battle crazed god. They try and just go around it with gag humor but it just makes it all the worst.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was partly bereavement time for Toyo. Dude is probably the literal biggest AT fan in the world, so probably hit him the hardest other than AT's direct family.

An arc focused entirely on Black Freeza would be lame after we already had RoF. He kinda feels more like a character that's just around to troll these days anyway and the writers clearly want to keep him around as long as possible (I doubt it was just Toriyama's idea, anyway). If an arc gives him major focus again maybe it could be one where Cooler is made canon or some kind of final boss of Super where he kills Beerus and becomes GoD.

Toriyama had a habit of winging his story month per month instead of having a clear outline. That's my guess.

I'm okay with the story ending here.

Maybe just adapt the Manga exclusive content to anime over time and then that's it.

It's such an awkward way to end it though, due to Frieza. You have a super villain far stronger than anyone in the universe who has returned to being Emperor of that universe. They have to resolve that plot point or else it ends with him basically ruling over everything. That's...kind of a dark way to finish Dragon Ball.

That would be an awful place to end things, though.

  • Black Frieza is still around.
  • Goku and Vegeta have yet to surpass or even match Beerus.
  • One of the points of Super was to bridge the gap between Z's Buu saga and End of Z, which as of it the current story is one year away.
  • They still barely touched on the other universes, and the other universes have been completely absent following the Tournament of Power.

Hakai is a mediocre ability frankly that generally doesn't work on any non fodder.

Beerus along with the rest of the GoDs and angels are moving goalpost and will continue to be so for however long the creators wish to maintain the current hierarchy and status quo.
