What do you dislike about fandom? Personally besides the overwhelming amount of ads Im cool with them. Gamefaqs is a site that allows 13 year olds, frankly lot of the boards shouldve gone with the adult content on there.

I get fandom feel they need to make changes to keep the site viable. But if the changes they make continue in the same vein as they have so far it wont be a site Ill personally want to visit.

This is what I dont get with guys like sterolizer. They keep proselytising about the need for fandom to make changes to stop the site from dying. But if that results in the social boards closing the site might as well be dead to a lot of the existing user base who will leave. There is nothing to be gained supporting the site to transition to something none of the long term users want to visit anymore.

I can take or leave the hornyposting ban, but the closing / locking down of boards is not good. Not a fan of the rules on political topics (keep them off game boards is fine; but limiting them to only CE rather than all social boards is excessive) or the ban on warned / suspended topics.

And weeks on no one has been able to explain why making CE private would help achieve that.

Hey. Im not denying it was dying. Im criticising long standing members of the site welcoming the changes with open arms and saying we should be greatful for it! As Ive said multiple times already why are people celebrating the site staying alive if it changes so much the reason we are here in the first place no longer exists?!

He actually had a melt down because I told him he's annoying once.

He responded posting a picture of him and a girl, as some sort of gotcha even though it had nothing to do with what we were talking about, and he got warned as a result of what he said to me in the post. Later, he complained that it was a conspiracy that I was some alt of a group of incels that were mad at him over a completely unrelated topic and that I was stalking his posts to get him modded. He posted this on the martial arts board, which is one of his havens, I guess, and at the time I'm glad I didn't have him blocked because they made fun of him there too.

He refused to block me for whatever reason, maybe he wasn't doing it back then. He has an annoying gimmick on C&GN where he mentions the Inhumans for no reason, and even though his topics were never getting any replies he wouldn't let it die. I just wanted him to admit Moon Knight was a disappointment, but he has too much pride to admit when he's wrong about something. I decided I enjoyed the boards more when he's in Purgatory so just made it permanent.

fandom, not related to gamefaqs, but the actual game/show wikis lend to a much larger problem imo.
i don't care to get into it, but sites like fandom are basically ruining everything from games to movies to TV shows. everything they touch turns to shit.

that's not to say fandom is the only culprit for ruining things. game studios and execs (most notably - stakeholders for public companies) are also really adding to the "lets ruin everything" pile.
not everything is bad, a lot of great shows/games have been released in recent years (like ive been watching x-men 97 and holy shit is it good, it scratches an itch i didn't know i had) but a lot of it is. and a lot of it isn't even bad on accident, it's just lazy.

The last time Fandom did a heavy buyout they caused the mass forced closure of wikis without warning. I wonder if we'll ever have drama that beats the closure of the anime bath scene wiki.
