and a roll full of labels saying Warning: opening this package will cause extreme happiness
Turning in a legal product, what did she expect?
They asked me if marijuana was illegal. I told them yes, Erica De La Rosa said.
she's ignorantIn her defense, carrying that much weed IS illegal in CA.

Where does it say how much it was? Doesn't say anything about it being over an ounce.I figured that was assumed when you read what else was in the box.

So it doesn't, gotcha. It definitely was. Thats the weed. And the digital scale underneath it
It definitely could be more but you stated it so confidently I assumed I missed it somewhere in the article.

Hey actual proof, neat.Yeah. So she was actually correct in saying that much weed IS illegal to possess.

Oh hey you found proof, nice.
Yeah but she didn't say "that much weed is illegal to possess", she just said it's illegal in general. Which is untrue for Cali.Im not going to argue semantics (too late?) but she was talking to elementary school kids. I dont know if it was necessary for her to get into technicalities of Well, once youre 18, and its an ounce or less, and you dont intend on distributing it, yes it is. Otherwise it is not.

It was 4 random kids asking her, not a court of law.
Maybe its just the parent in me, but if 4 elementary aged kids that I dont know come up to me and ask if weed is illegal, Im probably telling them Yes as well. Because at their age, it is.
a scale and a bunch of bags is pretty much always going to get you hit with intent to distribute even if the amount is technically legal otherwise though

Maybe it's just me but I'd prefer to actually educate the children rather than providing them with incorrect information.
Nah she's just ignorant. Also I would tell them the truth.

when asked "is marijuana illegal?" she said "yes". she has no idea what she's doing.Well, like I said above, Im a little more well versed in the alcohol laws than the marijuana ones, so I probably wouldve said no its not illegal, but you guys are too young to have it. Where did you get this?
if a group of kids found a 6-pack of beer and asked you if it was illegal, would you say "Yes" for thes same reason? or would you tell them "this is for adults"?
i don't think she was wrong at all for taking it away from the children. i just think it's mildly amusing how stuffy she was over weed, especially given that she lives in CA.Maybe that was all a front, and she owns a dispensary and didnt want that street weed cutting into her business. Lol.
"theres a trunk full of drugs in the parking lot and nobody is doing anything about it!?!!?!?!?!?!". like, chill out lady. its just weed and if you don't want it, just toss it in a dumpster or something. but she's over here acting like she found a pound of fent with how she expects the police to react.
she's ignorantMaybe she thought they meant federally? >_>

Y'all are taking this way too seriously, it's just kind of funny that she thought it was illegal in a state where it is not.But if you look at California laws, its more illegal than legal
Bro that is absolutely something that should be taken care of, wtf, a trunk full of drugs that little kids are checking out is very very bad.
I bet she's the same type of person that drives in the left lane and matches the speed of the person next to her to keep people from speeding.

I feel like this woman handled the situation appropriately and its kinda mind boggling to me how many of you think she was somehow in the wrong here because she didnt (because of lack of knowledge, ignorance, or some other reason) give these kids a proper legal lesson on marijuana possession
