still holds up. still one of the GOAT action flicks. special effects still look really good, even in this era of CGI.
I hope something good happens to you today

The stuntwork in particular is fantastic, notably some of those helicopter maneuvers in the final highway chase; not something I noticed as a kid, but as an adult I was like "how in the hell did that pilot do that without chopping himself and everyone else to bits?"

as i was watching it, i thought about how they actually wrecked cars, drove motorcycles off ramps and jumped them down into drainage ditches, etc. nowadays most of that would have been CGI (get off my lawn)

I feel like early CGI was bright and lacked detail so the T1000 especially can hold up because hes mostly formless. Its my favorite movie and its still great.
Trying is the first step towards failure, so just dont give it a shot and you cant dissapoint.

i sorta wish there was a plot explanation for how they conveniently ended up in a steel plant. that always bugged me. like if that car chase ended anywhere else they'd have had no chance at defeating the T1000.

I dont know it happened the same way in T1 and I had no complaints. But your right they just happened to end up with the only things that could defeat the T1000 like the liquid nitrogen and molten steel.

Speaking of that. One of those things that once it was pointed out I can never NOT unsee it. There's a point during that helicopter chase scene where the T-1000 is reloading/shooting his gun and he has extra arms still flying the helicopter while his "main" ones are doing the work with the gun.

*looks up clip*

Damn, I never noticed that, good find! I wonder why the didn't focus on it more? Maybe they thought it would look too hokey and just kept it as a blink-and-you'll-miss-it detail.

The T-800 has detailed files on Los Angeles area, so he purposefully leads the chase toward the steel plant. If we saw it from his eyes, he probably picked between 3-4 locations that had the potential to kill the T-1000.

The liquid nitrogen was on its way to the foundry to be used for some manufacturing process.

Who was the weirdo who thought inserting a guard licking the face of a stranger while they were bounded was a great idea? It offered nothing to the plot whatsoever.

i can buy that. a line of dialog, or a brief moment showing his thought process would have been nice tho. maybe we are just meant to assume that based on his previous demonstrations of knowledge.

even as a kid i thought that was really weird and i didn't quite understand it. as an adult, i still don't get how it adds to the plot in any way. the only thing i can think of is that it shows how strong Sarah was to be able to avoid reacting. it also shows how deplorable the conditions of the hospital are.

It really does hold up. The movie is every practical effects proponents favorite talking point. And for good reason.
More to do with the humidity than heat
It does! I still love it so much more than the first one.

Yeah I think that's there to just show the disdain the employees have for the people under their care. It doesn't add anything other to demonstrate Sarah's self control.

It's so you don't feel bad when she beats the shit out of him.

So much of the movie still holds up but these days I can't get over how obvious Arnold's stunt double is in a few scenes, like they just didn't care.
