He is calling him that specifically because Ukraine has not held elections since Russia invaded. But you can't have elections in the middle of an active invasion, that much should be obvious.

So how surprised are we going to be in about 3 years when Trump allows Russia to invade US soil so that he has a reason to cancel the next election? Every accusation is a projection with this admin, they have made that very very clear, and he's already hinted several times that he does not intend to leave office.

He's literally telling us what he's going to do

To me its just a case of Trump insanity, where many times before he admitted he thinks being a dictator is in fact a cool thing (Remember "day one dictator"?) but then throws the word around as an insult.

He incited an insurrection and tried the fake elector scheme in attempt to stay in power last time. Shouldn't be a surprise if he does something illegal to try to stay in power again.

Why would he let Russia invade America? That makes him look like the opposite of the strongman he's projecting himself as.

If he wants to cancel the election because the country is at war, he can invade Canada/Mexico/Greenland/Panama - those places he's already teasing invading? It doesn't matter if America is the place invading - nobody cares about the republicans being evil and breaking rules.

It's just projection, like everything else Trump says. He called someone else a dictator bc he wants to be a dictator.

He's not going to "allow" a Russian invasion. Americans don't like Russia. Even Republicans are largely on Ukraine's side in this war. Russia's military and economy are drastically depleted bc of this.

To be fair it is part of their constitution, it isn't part of ours.

Of course doesn't mean trump won't try to stay in power anyway.

At this point he doesn't appear to care about optics at all. It doesn't matter how it makes him look. It's the same thing as him saying Obama golfs too much or Biden signs too many EOs. He will do the exact things he said the other guy is doing 100x. We've watched him do this

Russia won't need to do anything, Trump is already trying to frame illegal immigrants as foreign soldiers (or whatever the term is) to deny their children birthright citizenship. He can easly just call martial law over the "invasion of foreign forces" to stop federal elections.

While the likelihood of Russia invading the US is a very remote and unlikely possibility, a greater possibility would be Trump enacting some sort of emergency action that will allow him to stay in power until the emergency is lifted. I can see a false flag military operation using his jack boots to declare martial law.

To be clear, when I say invasion I mean more like "invasion." It will be a ploy to stay in power, not an actual legit conflict like what is happening in Ukraine
