never saw the show, im just recommending gnarly gritty manga i like

i personally also dislike Yuri, but as someone who dislikes yuri i would like to recommend She Loves to Cook, She Loves to Eat

i will also recommend Gantz, which might be the best worst manga of all time. it's so bad it will be hard to look away

i would also strongly recommend the One Punch Man webcomic

i don't find the manga to be very good, it's kinda become what it's supposed to satirize. but you might like it, so why not that too

Okay, if the final battle is at the dump and the rusty steel thingie is the key to it all then I guess its just the same.
I may take a look at that loves to cook thing then.
Gantz I already read as it was publishing, it was great indeed.

Versus. A manga that is also written by one, the one punch man and mob psycho 100 guy. Manga is pretty interesting and you can knock out each chapter pretty quick. Real great artl

If you are in the mood for some mid to later 90s and early 2,000 shonen that is complete then both flame of recca and buso renkin is pretty fun.

*The same mangaka for flame of recca did another shonen that is also on the shorter and complete side called mar (marchen awakens romance) that I also liked. One of the main party members in mar is actually one of the antagonist turned ally characters from flame of recca and even though its one of those things you have to piece together I still thought it was neat. Mar also has the team female party member dorothy just beats ass and I like when shonen does not slack on that*

*Another thing that I really liked what flame of recca did is have the team's big slightly dumb guy be a total badass and win every single friggin' fight he had in the series, lol . Domon is like chad from bleach but he does not suck or job.

Funny enough the team pretty boy character, the MC's first rival turned team party member is the one that actually gets his ass beat the most, the characters in shonen who traditionally does well in fights and win just as much as the main character. Flame of recca gets brownie points for having the big guy win his matches, the team's main female party member damn near win all her fights from what I remember, and even the MC's mom gets to fight a few battles. (Who also won from what I remember).

Flame of recca is slept on for being a yu yu hakusho clone but imo its pretty awesome and does it's own thing in it's final big story arc.*

Spy x Family is fantastic and is way ahead of the anime so you get to all the meaty good shit before everyone else does. Some crazy fucking shit happens in pages that the anime hasn't gotten around to yet.

Ill be honest, I liked the premise but the anime felt kinda lame so I stopped after like 3 eps, it felt like a gokushufudou that is not as funny or likeable.

I actually haven't watched the anime yet since I don't have Netflix so unfortunately can't comment on how it compares to the manga.

I have started 20th century boys, I am currently intrigued and the first mystery of whodun it is pretty cool, probably going to be a big twist on who of all the peole that know of this symbol will end up being, maybe even pull a Baten Kaitos and it was the protagonsit all along but just didnt know it because amnesia or some shiet.

Someone here recommended Dai Dark to me (from creator of Dorehedoro) and I rather enjoyed it. It's gory and macabre in many ways, but the heart of the series is comedic, which makes for a weird change of pace. It's not completed yet, but it's pretty good.

Pretty sure the main divide would take place in Season 3.

Anyways,

Seconding Pluto. Probably Urasawa's best work imo.

Claymore - if you want some darker fantasy/action.

Ushio to Tora - an epic action/adventure manga in true 90's fashion. The overarching plot is one of the best I've ever come across.

Angel Densetsu - One of my favorite comedy series. Give the author some slack for the first couple volumes, the art does improve a lot over the series.

The Fable is pretty good, IMO.

it's about a top-tier hitman duo, where after a job, their boss wants them to lie low, masquerading as brother and sister, in a small town for a while.

this means they can't kill.

anyway, it's a pretty funny series.

it even has both an anime adaptation and a couple of live-action movies.

Higurashi and Umineko. Both are originally VNs, but they were enjoyable to read as manga.
Read a comic book instead.

I recommend The Sacrificers.

The succotash is suffering.
Comic Artist
Berserk is a classic that's still on going, sort of. The original author passed away a few years ago and his best friend has been writing the continuation as a form of coping.
It's a very dark and gore filled series, while at the same time being one of the best drawn mangas you'll ever read (the anime doesn't do it justice though, all CGI there.)
It's a major inspiration From Software's rpgs like Dark Souls.

Dark Gathering is pokemon but they capture ghosts instead.

Ika Musume and the other mangas writen by the series creator are good comedies.
It's about a Squid invading a beach house because humans have been destroying the ocean. Only to be forced to work at said beach house to pay off the damages.

D-frag is also a fun comedy.

I Hope You're Happy Lemon, a guy body swaps every otherday with his ex-girlfriend that was four-timing him . It actually has progress, unlike Rent A Girlfriend.

Peak comedy right here. The adaptation is getting a second season in summer.

If you haven't read it, Chainsawman is wild. It has a completely different feel from the anime.
